After fighting with me over Zoe's custody in the court of law, Leo tried to prove his sincerity for our kids through skipping hospital's treatments and cheering Jane outside her school. He nearly got me with his play when he repeatedly expressed his innermost wish to take Jane to his White mansion. But it was just a part of his game to annoy me.

That was why he had brought our kids back to my Villa instead of dropping them off at school.

One day at dad's place and my little angels had missed their school, I couldn't conceal my annoyance well after unlocking the door.

"Jane and Zoe, how was your stay at your dad's mansion? Why didn't you go to school?"

My queries without any formal greetings instantly got their response, Jane's voice was laced with embarrassment as she said,

"Mommy, it's my fault. I overslept!"

Dressed in a casual white t-shirt, Leo appeared before my sight, he sided with Jane.

"Kids were tired after a long day, Laura. There is no harm in a day off."

Well, there was indeed no harm in it, but his very presence irked me, churning my stomach. I hadn't expected to see my ex as a very first thing in the morning after a delightful night.

But the show was over!

It was the time to leave my dream world and report to my duty as a mother, so I gulped down my raging fury and pacified Jane.

"It's ok, my little girl. Have you eaten breakfast?"

Tying my hair in a low bun, I blocked Leo's way, who was more interested in peeking inside the room. He was definitely here to settle the score with Bright.

Yesterday evening, my fiancé had tactfully taught him a lesson, showing him his true place without violence. However, it wasn't in Leo's vengeful nature to spare Bright at any cost. He would go to any lengths to strike back.

Jane and Zoe had their breakfast in their dad's mansion, but they didn't like the chef's cooking. So, they insisted on cheese omelets.

"Mommy, no one cooks better than you. Dad's chef can't even make an edible sandwich …"

Zoe complained about his sufferings in one breath, blaming Leo for hiring a bunch of idiots. I was about to go to the kitchen when Bright called his prince.

"I will take you to my house, Zoe. My chef is an expert!"

"Daddy is here!"

My kids exclaimed happily and ran inside in a jiffy. I shook my head as the encounter I was avoiding showed me a middle finger mockingly. Bright was all set to meet his rival, only God knew what he was up to now.

Following his kids victoriously, Leo walked into my room, his smile deepened as he looked around.

"So simple and elegant.

Your choice is still the same, Laura!"

Referring to my modest choices since teen aging, he tried to show off our previous relationship in front of Bright. Sitting on the bed, Bright appeared nonchalant, not a bit troubled by Leo's comment as Jane and Zoe hopped on bed.

"It's so nice to see you here, daddy. When did you come home?"

Jane's query was answered by Zoe as he was more knowledgeable because of Leo and Melody's dating. He delineated seriously.

"Mommy and daddy went on a date. So, they have returned together, Jane. It's obvious."

"Oh!" Jane obediently listened to her brother, the topic of a new lifestyle with a daddy was intriguing for her. Bright was visibly irritated by Leo's unexpected visit, but he masked his emotions and spoke casually.

"Jane, did you have fun with your babysitter?

Oops!

Dad?

Because we had enjoyed ourselves so much."

Bright inquired about her first experience at White Mansion, indirectly mocking Leo. His proud statement narrowed Leo's eyes as he taunted him.

"I had planned to see you in the evening, but it looks that your dad felt so lonely that he came to see us.

"What did I do now?"

Bright gasped, looking guiltless, his shoulders jumped to his ears as he flashed a toothy smile.

"That wasn't a quarrel, Laura. We didn't raise our voices, nor threaten each other.

Even Zoe can tell we were discussing a matter in a friendly manner."

Bright's new definition of friendly contracted my stomach into a tight ball with the force of restraint, I threw a pillow at that diplomat.

"Thanks for another valuable lesson, Bright. You should open an institution to teach the new vocabulary."

His amused laughter echoed in the room as I grasped Jane and Zoe's hands and took them out of the room. They fired off multiple questions in a quick succession for interrogation.

"Is it a bad thing to have two dads?

What does it mean if we call uncle Bright daddy?"

Most of their queries were based on recent squabbles. So, I blushed while hardly managing to satisfy their curiosity with appropriate replies. This question answer session with the flashbacks of last night made it difficult to cook breakfast in the kitchen.

"Is it bad to have two Daddies?"

"What does it mean if we call Uncle Bright 'Daddy'?"

"Mommy, why did you and Daddy go to a hotel instead of a restaurant?"

I choked.

The spatula slipped from my fingers.

Jesus Christ.

Leo was so dead.
