Meeting Leo out of the blue wasn't a pleasant surprise, as no one would be happy to see her ex at all. So, I didn't pay much heed to his sudden appearance and apologized again to move forward,

"I am sorry for bumping into you, it wasn't intentional."

Leo's plump lips stretched in a booming smile, he spoke softly,

"It's alright, Laura. I know it was an accident."

As we were done, I didn't bother for a small talk and turned to leave, taking out my phone to call Bright's assistant. He wasn't replying to his calls, and I was in a hurry to discuss his mom's issue with him, this worry was eating me alive.

However, Leo had something else on his mind. He swiftly came in front of me, halting me in my tracks.

"It seems that you are out shopping today. Great!

We must spare some time for ourselves."

His comment couldn't get my attention like usual; I would have snapped at him for poking his nose in my life. Looking at my cell phone, I pressed dial and spoke casually,

"I agree with you, Leo. You should go out sometimes.

Sorry, I am in a kind of rush. See you later!"

My indirect goodbye should have been enough for Leo, but he didn't lose heart and approached me using a different method.

"Wait a minute, Laura. You have an off today, and I am free too. What about we spend quality family time together? Our little angels would love it."

As I waited for Bright's assistant to pick the call, Leo went on and on about the advantages of co-parenting, sharing his recent experience with kids.

"I am truly ashamed to say it, but Jane and Zoe didn't enjoy themselves at my mansion. They mentioned you at every point, praising your cooking and care continuously. It occurred to me that I know nothing about raising kids alone.

I must say you are an all-rounder, Laura. You managed your business and took care of our little girl alone, and even won Zoe's heart in such a short time. It's ..."

Leo's endless admiration was indeed true. I had noticed that my kids weren't as happy and excited as they should be after spending the first night at White Mansion. Not to mention Jane overslept, and they missed school, it was clear that Leo was unfit to keep kids alone.

But unfortunately, the person standing before me didn't let me think in peace. Leo took my silence as the permission to pour his heart out, like I was interested in his shortcomings.

"Now, I have realized that I can't arrange play dates on my own, Laura. Our little angels adore you, just like me.

Can you please help me to be a perfect father figure in our kids' lives? They need me as well, Laura. And I don't want to disappoint them ..."

He was requesting me to share some tips about raising kids when his cell phone rang in his pants pocket, he asked me.

My kids never do anything without informing me first, it was impossible that they wouldn't tell me about this plan with their father. I couldn't trust Leo word for it.

So, I was about to call Jane for confirmation when he interrupted me,

"Come on, Laura. Please don't be mean. They are kids, let them be."

He made an excuse that kids forgot to tell me due to the party and pointed towards his car in the parking lot,

"As I said before, we both are free today, it's a golden opportunity to have a meal together and look after our little angles.

They will love to be with us."

Leo's genuine concern for our kids' well-being left me speechless, convincing me with Jane and Zoe's presence at his place. I couldn't bring myself to say no this time. My kids' unexpected trip diverted the flow of my thoughts, although I was feeling stuck because of my love life.

As I was in deep in thoughts, Leo literally dragged me to his Mercedes-Benz, thanking me,
