Laura's P.O.V.

Coming back to my messed-up Villa was something that I hadn't expected after a tiring day. Bright left no stone unturned to spoil my little angels. He bought a wheelchair for himself and participated in every activity, moving freely, although I had begged him to stay in bed and take rest.

But no!

He disregarded my words and became a child with Jane and Zoe. I returned to meet three kids in my living room.

"Mommy is home!”

A chorus of excited voices greeted me, I was aghast to witness a full-fledged party there. Scattered toys, charts, colorful ribbons, crinkle papers, and paints, there wasn't enough space for a person to stand properly without stepping on junk.

My kids were with Bright, standing on the sofa behind his wheelchair. My heart thumped as they hopped on it gleefully.

"We were waiting for you, mommy. Let's play!”

The drawings on papers and charts were acceptable, but cute kitties painted on Bright's face struck me speechless, I was at a loss of words. My kids' proficiency in painting didn't spare my beloved fiancé, using him as a live model, they had practiced on him frankly.

I was happy as this was a glimpse of Bright's love for Jane and Zoe; however, it was until my gaze travelled from his face to his injured leg. The colorful pattern on his cast ran me out of patience. That sky-blue cast was pink and yellow with a playground of kids drawn on it instead of flowers.

Well, that was it for my good mommy's attitude for the day. Firstly, I gave my purse to Mrs. Doris and glanced at my expectant family, utterly disheartened.

"Playtime is over, Jane. Now, come down real slow"

The sharpness of my tone vanished adorable smiles from my kids' faces, aching my chest. I had to suppress the tornado of my love to discipline them. It wasn't my intention to hurt their delicate feelings, but once in a while, my little angels needed a dosage of mommy's anger.

My one hard glare worked like magic and my kids abandoned the fun hopping, standing on the floor safely. I was able to breathe properly after dispelling the danger and said,

"Did you two eat well and go to the ice hockey practice today, Zoe?”

My little boy's face lost all its colors, becoming chalk-white, his round eyes were full of fear.

"No, mommy. We didn't go for practice!”

Jane held his hand firmly, reminding me of the permanent paint stains on their skin. I swallowed the unpleasant feelings and made my way into this mess, intending to wipe their hands as the paint could be a headache to wash sometimes. However, my caring gestures were misinterpreted by Bright.

He stretched his long arm in front of my kids, shielding them.

"No, Bright. You weren't wrong. In fact, Jane and Zoe must be happy to finally enjoy the bounty of having a real daddy. An angry mom, chill dad, and naughty kids, isn't it a perfect representation of a completely happy family?”

No matter how upset I was about my kids' day off, it was the first time that they had spent a full day with Bright. This time was precious for them to bond closely. They were introduced to a savior today, running to their daddy to avoid my fury would be a new hobby of my little angels.

So, despite my worries, all was well!

I helped Bright to change and made coffee after putting my tired kids to bed. They barely ate, and yawned all the time during dinner, so I didn't mind them going to their beds earlier.

Resuming my coffee routine was really helpful to unwind after a long day. We sat in our favorite spot, viewing the stars out of the window, and shared our day. Bright inquired about my quest.

"Did you meet Sienna today, Laura?”

I told him about the wait and then mall's encounter. He was going to comment on our introduction when the sudden notification tone of my cell phone echoed in the surroundings.

As I was fed up with official work, I wasn't in the mood to read the text. But Bright picked my phone from the side table and spoke worriedly.

"Laura, why Echo is panicking about your company stocks. Is everything alright?”
