Due to the media’s trouble, I had no choice but to meet Leo in person. Otherwise, I would have sent flowers with a get well soon card for him.

Preparing myself for a nerve-wracking battle, I bought flowers on my way and reached the hospital. A flock of enraged media reporters welcomed me at the door.

If it wasn’t for my security, they would have hit me with their cameras and microphones like crazy fans as a series of questions blamed me openly.

It was your duty to take good care of Leo as his manager. Is that how you do business, Miss Becker?”

Wearing a professional smile, I responded to their bitter queries, explaining on the behalf of a grown ass man. I thought inwardly.

“Yes, I will never forget to tuck him in bed after a bedtime story like my Jane. Leo is such a delicate baby!”

Anyway, my security guards made a way for me to move forward. I was walking swiftly to avoid this melodrama when a reporter’s shrill voice emerged from the crowd.

This revelation drove the crowd nuts, wasting my efforts to pacify them before. The voices were raised to accuse me curtly, and before the situation could get worse, I stepped inside the elevator, sighing in relief.

Unlike Echo’s anxious voice, I was as cool as cucumber, reading the messages with a wide grin. People were speculating wildly about my relationship with Leo, calling him a lover boy and all that. I had become a villain for many girls within minutes.

Soon, Echo completed her rant and asked me about my next plan.

Echo didn’t seem convinced, but she chose to stay silent, the worry written in bold letters on her forehead disturbed me as well.

Facing public rage was for strong-minded people and I just needed to stay composed during this tide. The wheel of fortune would definitely turn in our favor soon. We were discussing the media strategy when the doctors allowed us to see Leo. So, we went inside carefully, trying not to make any noise. Lying on the bed, Leo looked like a terminally sick patient, his dark complexion and swollen eyes screamed the severity of the situation.

Honestly speaking, I felt a bit sad to see his condition. He was a dad whose innocent child had nothing to do with his crimes. I had to be careful about everyone’s sake.
