Flora: "......"
She hadn't said that.
"My little sister is truly amazing, she can do anything," Henrik chuckled, his eyes softening with a warm smile. "Doesn't all that make you tired?"
"Not at all."
Flora shook her head.
It was a piece of cake for her.
A Lydia wasn’t worth the exhaustion.
"You've worked hard, my dearest and most adorable Flora," Henrik said as he gently tousled her hair.
Flora frowned; everyone loved to mess with her hair. It was going to get greasy at this rate.
After a quick chat with Henrik, she headed back to her room.
She was about to hop in the shower when a message from Crimson popped up.
Crimson: Sweetie Flora, I've got the scoop on Cecelia you asked for. Check your email for the details.
Flora's eyes narrowed slightly.
She opened her email and clicked on the file Crimson sent.
The more she read, the more her expression soured.
Finally, her face turned icy cold.
......
At the University of Maple Grove.
Blake had just finished churning out a fifty-thousand-word reflection paper.
His hands were shaking.
"Mr. Blake."
A knock on the door caught his attention, and Blake glanced up to see Cynthia standing there, a flicker of coldness in his eyes.
"Come in," he said flatly.
"Mr. Blake, I need to know why you won't approve my leave?" Cynthia asked directly, "My mom's sick, I need to go home."
He had plenty more tricks up his sleeve.
Cynthia was so furious she was trembling, her teeth clenched tight. She returned to her dorm, and Eilies rushed over, "So, did you get the leave?"
She was supposed to go with Cynthia to see Blake, but got called away by a teacher last minute, so she couldn't join her.
Cynthia recounted everything Blake had said to Eilies. Hearing it, Eilies was livid and grabbed her coat, ready to storm out.
"He's clearly got a vendetta! I'm going to confront him right now!"
"Don't bother, it won't help," Cynthia held her back. "And don't tell Flora about any of this."
It was within Blake's rights to deny her leave, and they had no real argument. Confronting him wouldn't change anything.
Cynthia suspected Blake was targeting them because of something related to Flora.
Right now, Blake was only after her. If Eilies went, he might turn his anger on her too.
She didn’t want Flora to find out because she knew Flora’s temper.
She feared that if Flora found out, she'd come in swinging.
She just had to endure this, just this one time!
