His hands roamed restlessly over her waist, his head resting lightly on her shoulder as he leaned in. He turned his face slightly and caught her earlobe gently between his teeth. 

“Does this count as sneaking around?” he whispered. 

Flora’s ears twitched, a blush spreading from her neck up to her ears. 

Connor’s night vision was exceptional, allowing him to see the flush on her face even in the dim light. The shadows added a certain allure to the moment. 

“Does this make it more exciting?” he murmured, his lips brushing against Flora’s earlobe, sending tingles down her spine and making her knees weak. 

Flora was the first to cave, turning to face Connor and wrapping her arms around his neck, her eyes misty and a bit reproachful. “Connor, it’s only been a few days, and you’ve already picked up some naughty tricks!” 

She had always been the one to tease him, but now she found herself struggling to keep up. 

Connor chuckled. 

He’d always had a bit of a mischievous streak, but only for his girl. 

He leaned down and gently nibbled her lip before stepping back. 

He walked over to the wall and switched on the light. 

The cold white glow filled the room, giving it a bit of a chill.

Flora took a bite, her tongue playfully licking Connor’s fingers that held the cake.

“Is it sweet?” Connor asked, his eyes lingering on her crumb–dusted lips, a gleam in his 

dark eyes. 

“It’s okay-” 

Before she could finish, he silenced her with a kiss. 

Three minutes later, Connor pulled back, savoring the moment, and smiled. 

“Yeah, really sweet.” 

Flora blinked. “Want to taste something even sweeter, Mr. Connor?” 

At 9:50 PM, Flora returned to her dorm. 

“Flora, why is your face so red?” Cynthia asked, noting the flush on Flora’s cheeks. 

Before Flora could reply, Cynthia continued, “I think it’s my turn to stand guard tomorrow. Standing guard is exhausting, isn’t it? Even with your stamina, you came back panting and walking funny.” 

Flora coughed… 

She rubbed her legs, finished her nightly routine, and went to bed. 

The next day was a weighted run. 

The course was four miles long. 

Just the distance was enough to wear out these top students, let alone with an additional five–kilogram weight. 

With sandbags tied to their legs, even walking was tough. 

“Reporting to the instructor, I’m not feeling well. I request to rest here.”
