When Lindsey got out of the elevator, she deliberately glanced across the hallway before she entered her apartment. She only saw that the door of the apartment opposite her was tightly closed and it did not look as if anyone had returned.
Zayn did not appear in front of her again these days.
Lindsey wondered what Liam did to the people Zayn sent to follow her.
She shook her head to get rid of those messy thoughts.
It was Zayn's idea to get people to follow her, so if anything, this was his responsibility.
Even though Lindsey thought so, Liam's words "not dead yet" still made her shudder.
Why would the two of them have a grudge against each other anyway?
The two bodyguards who followed Lindsey that were tortured by Liam Wilford were under Soren's command.
The two of them were “not dead yet” as Liam put it, but each of them had an arm broken.
They were broken excruciatingly right in front of their eyes.
Soren was furious at that time and told Zayn at once.
Liam did not even think about hiding his identity. This was an open provocation.
"Settle them properly. Since Liam Wilford is so free, let’s find something for him to do." The man's voice was cold and emotionless.
Nonetheless, Soren could feel that Zayn was infuriated.
Soren received the instructions and retreated.
Before he left, Zayn answered a phone call and said over the phone, "Grandpa, is something wrong?"
Soren closed the door behind him. He thought about what he and Quentin had done for the Old Master and only hoped that Zayn would not be too angry when he found out.
Early the next morning, the person arranged by the old man knocked on Lindsey's door.
The person who came was Soren.
Lindsey had never met Soren, but having been married to Zayn for so long, she had heard of this right-hand man Zayn had.
"Ms. Juhl, the Old Master asked me to come and pick you up," Soren said.
Lindsey nodded lightly. "Let's go then."
When she got in the car, she saw that it was only the two of them and could not help but ask, "Where are we going?"
"The psychiatric hospital," Soren said straightforwardly. The old man did not want to hide it from Lindsey.
Lindsey's heart jumped wildly. She was dumbfounded for a moment, then hurriedly asked, "Which psychiatric hospital?"
"Atlantic City Second Psychiatric Hospital."
Lindsey's face suddenly changed.
The old man was going to take her to see Jenny Lenig? Was Jenny really in a psychiatric hospital?
Zayn was willing to do that?
Lindsey’s emotions were in a mess and she could not even think properly until she got out of the car.
"Young Madam, we’re here." Soren got out of the car and opened the door for her.
Lindsey's heart shuddered. She frowned and asked, "What do you mean?"
"She was pretending to be crazy, but she just wanted the Young Master to let her off the hook after knowing what she had done. Unfortunately, she forgot that in this world, there are plenty of situations that are much worse than death."
When Soren spoke, the look on his face revealed the ferocity of dabbling in shady business for years, which creeped Lindsey out.
After understanding what Soren's words meant, Lindsey stood up from the stool at once with wide eyes. "You mean, Zayn knows that Jenny Lenig found someone to hurt me?"
"Young Madam, the Young Master..." Soren looked a little helpless and wanted to say something, but his voice was interrupted by the sound of the door opening.
"Hello, this is the person you want to see." The doctor who left earlier had returned. She pushed the woman who followed behind her in front of Lindsey.
Lindsey saw the withered woman in front of her and could not tell how she actually felt at the moment. The woman in front of her was nothing like she remembered, her beauty and charm were gone. She looked like a shriveled zombie.
"Jenny Lenig?" Lindsey called out extremely slowly and said each word very clearly. The deep hatred she felt for the woman in front of her surged up at once, which made her say these two short words through gritted teeth.
"Who are you? Do you have any snacks? Can you play with me?" The woman in front of her suddenly ran up to her, blinking her eyes as she said in a child-like tone.
She looked at Lindsey with eyes full of curiosity and kept sizing her up.
Lindsey, however, did not believe that Jenny really went crazy and whispered, "I’m Lindsey Juhl and I’ve come to take your life."
Jenny clearly flinched and took a step backward.
Lindsey saw it clearly and laughed coldly. All of sudden, she slapped Jenny across the face. She then yanked Jenny’s hair and dragged her towards the balcony.
They were on the fourth floor. It was not very high and there was a flower bed at the bottom.
"Look, what’s down there?" Lindsey asked as she leaned in towards Jenny's ear.
