Quentin was called over in the middle of the night to pick Zayn up, but he had no complaints.

The time Zayn gave him was just right because Zayn lost consciousness right when Quentin arrived.

Quentin called out to him a few times and after seeing no response from him, he skillfully picked Zayn up with an arm draped across his waist and headed out.

He was incomparably skilled in taking care of the drunk Zayn.

The drunk man did not respond to his manhandling, but as they left, Zayn unconsciously murmured, "Lindsey...wifey..."

Quentin sighed. The President getting drunk like this was 80% related to the Young Madam again.

When Quentin arrived, Zayn was the only one in the private room and he naturally did not think that someone would take advantage of Zayn to seduce him. When Zayn woke up the next morning, he was still thinking about Lindsey’s angry face, so he also overlooked that incident last night. Therefore, Allie was lucky not to be caught.

"Recently, we’ve lost many clients because of Denarius. We can’t even carry out next quarter's plan normally. This is the proposal. President, please take a look."

Milo projected the proposal on the screen and scrolled through page by page. At the end of it, he looked at Lindsey and asked, "President, do you see any suitable ones?"

However, Lindsey was just staring in one direction and did not answer his question.

"President?" Milo spoke louder.

The woman with a weary face finally raised her head. "Sorry?"

Milo sighed helplessly and repeated what he had just said. Finally, he asked worriedly, "Are you okay?"

Lindsey shook her head and said, "Just leave it here. I'll give you an answer later."

Before Milo left, Lindsey called the man back. "Wait."

Milo turned around and quietly waited for Lindsey's order. Lindsey just said, "Recently, Denarius seemed a bit too aggressive. First, withdraw the funds you plan to invest in the next quarter and wait until the board comes up with specific solutions to deal with their business attacks."

Lindsey did not see Zayn again these days, but she still could not sleep peacefully at night.

Zayn was attacking them so aggressively because of her, but she did not want to look for him.

This resurgence of the old Zayn just made her feel like running away.

When she left work, Lindsey was not surprised to see Shaun.

After that day, Shaun suddenly liked to wait for her at the entrance of Wilford's office after work.

Lindsey could not refuse his kindness, but she did not want to go on like this with him.

She still took Zayn’s words to heart and this behavior would just confirm Zayn’s suspicions.

Lindsey could have actually used this opportunity to have a blatant relationship with Shaun just to rub it in Zayn’s face, but she did not want to use Shaun as a shield to do that. It was also against her heart.

Although she thought so, when she saw Shaun, she still could not ignore him completely.

As Lindsey walked to Shaun's car, she smiled at him and said, "Brother, I told you that my office is very close to home, so you don't have to come."

Shaun smiled and opened the car door for her. "But I’m already here, you don't want my efforts to go to waste right?"

Lindsey let out a bitter laugh. "Of course not."

Shaun just pretended that he did not see the reluctance on her face.

Just as Lindsey was about to get into the car, an angry female voice suddenly sounded.

"Shaun Juhl!"

The voice was crisp and cheerful. It even had a girlish tone. The passersby were all attracted by the anger contained in her little voice and looked over in that direction.

Lindsey stopped moving and turned around to see that it was indeed the same Yvette Wendell that she had met before.

Even if peace was briefly restored, the illusion would shatter soon after and they would return to turmoil.

Lindsey had to admit that such a relationship was exhausting. She had a thought in her heart and somehow agreed to it.

Zayn was a little surprised at her unexpectedly calm attitude, but this calmness did not make him feel at ease.

"Let's walk back together." Lindsey proposed.

After the thought in her heart was firm, she felt that being able to live in peace outside of their relationship might be the only good thing she wanted.

Thus, like two old friends who had not seen each other for a long time, the two walked back from Wilford's office unhurriedly.

They were speechless the entire way and the atmosphere between the two of them was sadly quiet.

Lindsey felt there was nothing to talk about while Zayn did not know how to start the conversation.

The silence spread, but Lindsey did not mind it. She even craved for this quiet and harmonious atmosphere between the two of them.

They arrived at the elevator lobby downstairs when Zayn suddenly spoke, "I was too emotional that day and said some things I shouldn’t have."

This was his way of seeking a truce.

In front of Lindsey, he could always surrender easily.

Lindsey just gave a faint "mmm" and said, "It's okay."

She had long been used to it.

Lindsey was so used to his sudden outbursts and apologies.

When the elevator arrived, the two of them went in side by side. Lindsey’s indifferent attitude made Zayn feel a little loss for words.
