Zion waited for a long time, but no one came out from that road. He then asked someone in the vicinity to find out where that road led to.

"That's a private beach that was bought by someone. They don’t allow any outsiders to go in, so you should go somewhere else." The cheerful and enthusiastic fruit storekeeper said with a loud voice. He told Zion everything he knew.

The sun was about to set. The person keeping watch at the Wilford office said that Liam Wilford's car had left. Zion told them to follow closely and refilled another cup of coffee for himself.

Sophie fell asleep from exhaustion. Liam could not help but gently kissed her flushed cheeks before he got up and went out the door.

Downstairs, Allie Wilford was sitting there, questioning the maids about something. Her voice was so loud that Liam could hear it as soon as he opened the door.

The tenderness on Liam's face instantly faded.

Seeing Liam come down the stairs, Allie's voice suddenly became much softer. She raised her chin to the maid and said, "You can leave first."

"Brother." Allie stood up and looked at Liam, who walked in front of her. "I wanna go home..."

Allie's eyes widened in shock. The stinging sensation on her face came later and her eyes instantly filled with tears. She looked at the angry Liam with shock. "Brother, why did you hit me?"

Liam shook his wrist and thought that his slap was not that hard. "So what if I hit you?"

His gaze was deep as he looked at her with disdain. Allie was completely dumbfounded. Liam had never treated her like this before.

She reached out and covered her cheek. She could not even speak. Liam sat down and looked at Allie, who was standing in place.

"How many times have I told you to be more restrained? Do you think no one can do anything to you? Time and time again, you think you’re just so smart. Don’t think that no one knows what you’ve done!"

Allie broke down and shouted, "What did I do?"

She had hardly ever been beaten since she was young. Although Liam was cold, he always pampered her. This slap was hard for her to accept.

"You’re so stupid and you don’t even know it! That's the kind of person you are!" Liam only felt that he did not slap her hard enough to wake her up from her idiocracy. His face turned colder and glared at her as if he was looking at a dumb stranger.

Allie wanted to ask what this had to do with the Wendells, but she was afraid that Liam would scold her again for being stupid and ignorant, so she swallowed her words. She finally understood what Liam meant and instantly became tense. "Brother, you can't let him wake up."
