The so-called doctor was a rugged-looking man, but he looked clean and his hands were calloused, which was unusual for a doctor. However, he looked quite serious.

"Does it hurt here?" The doctor pressed two fingers deep in Lindsey's belly.

Lindsey nodded gently. "It hurt a lot just now, but it's much better now."

"Age? Gestation period?" The doctor took out a small notebook and recorded it.

"Twenty-six years old. Sixteen weeks."

"Any other discomfort elsewhere?" The doctor looked down and wrote in the notebook. "Any vaginal bleeding?"
