"The surgical plan has been drawn up. Mr. Wilford wanted you and Ms. Leger to have the surgery as soon as possible, so it’s set in a few days." Andre looked at Lindsey in the eye when he said this. Her eyes were clear and reflected his shadow in the warm yellow light. Andre's voice gradually got softer.
After the surgery, he would not get the chance to see these beautiful eyes again.
He even felt a faint regret in his heart.
Lindsey curled her lips into a bitter smile. "I know. Thank you."
"Stop thanking me." Andre lowered his head. "I agree with you. We're obviously doing the wrong thing, yet we keep thinking that we're right."
After saying that, Andre sighed and stood up.
"You'll be at the hospital for the next few days and I'll be here too, so you can call me if you need anything."
"Okay." Lindsey nodded her head and watched Andre leave.
On the other side, Sophie also heard about this from Liam.
"So soon?!" Sophie looked at Liam and could not hide her shock.
Liam's face looked sharp with all the edges. He nodded lightly. "Mm."
"Liam..." Sophie wanted to say something else, but she was interrupted by Liam.
"This matter is settled. I still have some things to do at the office, so I’ll go first." To Liam, this matter was non-negotiable.
Sophie froze. This was the first time Liam spoke to her in such a cold and harsh tone.
When Liam looked away, Sophie's eyelashes trembled slightly and she lowered her eyes. "Liam, I won't agree to this surgery. I won't cooperate and you won't get what you want."
Liam was all set to leave, but when he heard this, he turned his head to look at Sophie again as his eyes flickered.
"I won't agree to it." Sophie folded her arms to cover up her nervousness. "I can't listen to you this time."
Liam finally understood Sophie's meaning this time. He stood still and suddenly let out a deep breath. He even laughed in exasperation.
"I don’t care what you think." Liam suddenly stepped forward and cupped Sophie's chin. He leaned in and whispered in Sophie's ear, "I want us to be together forever."
When Liam could not see her face, Sophie grimaced.
......
"What's all this?" Soren could not help but complain. "These people are clearly not Madam! What the hell are these people thinking? Are they f*cking blind?"
Soren had a laptop in front of him. A large amount of information was summarized after being filtered by his subordinates, but so far, none of them could provide any useful clues.
His phone on the table gently vibrated, so Soren picked it up and was stunned.
Sieben was sitting on the floor stacking some blocks. When she saw Soren answer the call, her beautiful eyebrows wrinkled slightly, showing dissatisfaction.
Soren laughed a little to appease her, then held the phone to his ear.
"Hello."
"Hello, I'm looking for Mr. Guggenheim."
Before the person finished speaking, Soren's eyes flashed. That person was speaking English.
These days, most people claiming to have information about Lindsey would generally speak German.
A clear and sweet female voice sounded through the phone. Soren became serious and the surrounding air seemed to have turned colder. Sieben was sitting on the ground pouting and wanted to say something, but she swallowed her words.
"Mr. Guggenheim is not in right now. May I ask who is calling?"
There was a pause and the woman seemed to be deliberating something. After a pause, she said apologetically, "I have something to say to Mr. Guggenheim, may I ask when will he be around?"
Soren did not know how to react to that.
Since Sieben woke up, her intelligence had reverted to that of a five or six-year-old child and did not recognize anyone.
Soren had gotten a lot of doctors to consult on her case, but all of them said that the person who attacked her at the time caused major trauma to her brain and they did not know how to treat her. No one knew when she could recover.
She insisted on calling Soren Sorie. To her, Soren was her best friend and other people like Zayn were her elders.
Even Yvette, who was obviously only a few years older than Sieben, was called “Auntie Yvie” every time they met. This made Yvette avoid Sieben as much as possible.
Looking at the closed door, Soren just thought that he was raising a child. He shook his head and messaged Zayn about what happened earlier.
Zayn came back much faster than Soren thought.
He was wearing a dark suit, which made his already lean figure seem thinner. He looked deep and introspective.
"Who was the caller?" Zayn looked at the time of the call and asked Soren.
Soren had already used this time to check that number.
"There’s no information about this number." Soren shrugged and continued, "It’s either an illegal number or this call is encrypted."
Zayn nodded and had expected it. He looked at his watch and it was 5:45 pm. There was still 15 minutes to 6:00 pm.
Time passed and Zayn gently tapped his finger on the table. Although he did not say anything, Soren could feel Zayn’s eagerness.
The hour hand pointed to the number six on the clock above them. Zayn’s eyes moved to his phone, but the phone on the table did not move.
"Maybe that person’s delayed." Soren even subconsciously made a case for the mysterious caller.
Zayn nodded and got up to pace around. He felt that their current behavior was a bit silly. It was just a mysterious call, yet they held such high expectations.
