Lindsey was physically and mentally exhausted during this period. Due to Zayn’s situation, she visited many companies that had cooperated with Denarius before, hoping that Denarius' situation would not continue to deteriorate before Zayn’s situation turned around.
She and Quentin split up and spent a few days going around almost all the companies in Atlantic City.
Lindsey also asked Shaun to find famous lawyers all over the world. She was not willing to give up as long as there was still hope.
However, she would often come back empty-handed after a whole day of work. People in the business world knew how to dodge a precarious situation. When they saw that something was not right, their instinct was to avoid harm.
Lindsey did not blame them for abandoning Denarius at this time, but watching Denarius go from being a huge corporation to being the laughing stock was still very unpleasant.
If Zayn came out and saw Denarius like this, how sad would he be?
Before this, Lindsey rarely showed up in front of others. Everyone was also afraid to be affiliated with Denarius, so once they heard that she was the real Chairman of Denarius, they all avoided her like the plague. Shaun then used his identity and brought Lindsey along to an appointment with them. For a while, there were even a lot of rumors about Lindsey and Shaun.
Both of them just laughed it off and did not care to respond to these rumors, but they did not want to be targeted.
At the top floor President’s Office of S.P. Corporation, a competent secretary knocked on the door. "President, your documents."
Ann turned around and put down the stack of photos in her hand. The corners of her lips hooked up slightly. "Come in."
The sound of crisp high heels sounded and a few moments later, several documents were placed in front of her. "President, our newly launched products have received many invitations to cooperate, I've gathered them all here. Please go through them."
The secretary looked a little older than Ann, but she was very respectful in front of her.
Ann nodded and picked up the file on the desk. Her fingers were fair and tender, but there was a rose tattooed on her last two fingers which made her seem mysterious and feminine. This was the overall vibes Ann gave others.
The secretary put down the file and was ready to go out, but she was lazily called back by the woman behind her. "Wait."
"President, is there anything else?" The secretary hastily turned around and asked.
The sharp fingernails tapped at the stack of photos she had casually placed on the desk. "Denarius' President's wife jumping into the arms of her new lover. I think those tabloids would like this new headline for tomorrow. Send it over to them."
The secretary picked up the photos. It was just Lindsey and Shaun going out together on different occasions. There was even a picture of Shaun sending Lindsey home at night and following Lindsey in.
The secretary was familiar with these two people because she was the one who handed the news about them to the press in recent days.
These photos were taken out of context and were taken at an angle. Just by looking at them, it was very easy to misunderstand Lindsey's relationship with Shaun.
However, Shaun was just sending Lindsey home. He would also go in to see Dezi and would leave after a short while. Even so, no one cared if he came out or not when they saw this news.
"Yes, I'll get right on it." The secretary only dared to roughly skim through it before she nodded in response.
She leaned down and picked up the gorgeous invitation before she asked in confusion, "What is this?"
Sieben gave her a dumbfounded look, telling Lindsey through her eyes, “I don't know either.”
Lindsey shrugged and opened the invitation, which had a message printed in gold lettering, “Dear Ms. Lindsey Juhl, Chairman of Denarius Corporation, S.P. Corporation cordially invites you to attend the reception at The Taj Hotel in three days.”
Lindsey's gaze was glued to the words, “S.P.”, and she could not look away from it for a long time. Her fatigue instantly vanished.
She dragged her slippers to the kitchen and leaned on the door as she raised the invitation in her hand. "Aunt Wendy, who sent this?"
Mrs. Wendy was seasoning the dish in the pan. When she heard Lindsey, she turned around and said casually, “Someone sent it over at noon saying that it was an invitation to a reception. Since you’ve been trying to help Zayn with business, I thought that you might want to attend this, so I accepted it.”
Lindsey did not say anything. Her downcast eyes fell on those words again. She reached out to rub her brows, then straightened up and called Shaun.
"Brother, I received an invitation from S.P. Corporation."
Shaun was still at the office. He stopped fidgeting with the pen in his hand when he heard those words and his eyes fell on an invitation on his desk.
He knew of Lindsey's suspicion of Ann and S.P. Corporation, so he thought about it before he said, "It's not anything important. Don't go if you don't want to."
