Lindsey simply wanted to laugh at his attitude. She pulled the corner of her lips but did not manage to smile. She only felt that she had tugged on somewhere at the bottom of the heart. It was extremely painful.

Mrs. Wendy’s reaction was even greater than Lindsey’s. She rushed over in a few steps and looked at Zayn. She said angrily, "Zayn! What are you talking about?"

Zayn did not look at anyone, nor did he speak. His expression was incredibly glum as well.

Lindsey bit her lips and suddenly threw the document to Zayn’s chest. She lifted her chin and said, "I'm not signing this!"

The folder smashed onto Zayn's chest and brought him some pain.

He looked at Lindsey and held back the anguish he felt. He clenched his fingers and the words that came out of his mouth were heartless. "If you don’t sign this now, then we'll just have to meet in court."

"Zayn, tell me honestly. Is the company's problem so serious that you’re afraid of dragging me and Dezi into it?" Lindsey took a deep breath and asked him as calmly as possible. She resisted the urge to reach out and scratch Zayn's face.

Zayn raised his eyes and looked at her. His eyes were indistinct. "You think too much."

"Then give me a reason." Lindsey was relentless and even a little aggressive. "I can't think of any reason for you to do this."

Hearing her words, Zayn uncrossed his legs and stood up.

The height difference between the two of them was obvious. The moment he stood up, his oppressive aura instantly hit Lindsey.

The two of them were separated by a coffee table. Lindsey had to tilt her head up to see Zayn's expression clearly.

Zayn reached out and caught Lindsey off guard as he pinched her chin.

The distance between the two of them instantly closed and the tips of their noses almost touched. Lindsey's heart jumped and her eyes flickered.

Zayn caressed her face with his thumb and said in a gentle and sympathetic tone, “Why did you lose weight?”

Lindsey’s nose tingled and she wanted to say something, but Zayn beat her to it as he said coldly, “You still lost weight even with Shaun’s care. Don’t tell me it’s because you miss me?”

After he said that, he pushed Lindsey away and let go of her chin. A sudden pain came from her jaw. Lindsey did not stand firm and fell back on the sofa.

Zayn's fingers moved lightly and watched as Lindsey fell.

"Zayn!" Mrs. Wendy exclaimed as she quickly went forward to help Lindsey up. "Are you alright?"

Lindsey was fine. After being treated like this, she shook her head and her eyes were red.

Zayn turned his back to Lindsey and looked at a painting on the wall. “Staying in Shaun’s house is probably a dream come true for you, huh? You can eat and be together every day. You probably wish that I won’t get out, right?”

He finally turned around and continued in a cold voice, "The Guggenheim family doesn’t need a woman who isn’t faithful to her husband."

After saying that, he flung the divorce agreement in front of Lindsey. "Sign it."

Lindsey could not help but pull Dezi on her lap. When she thought of what Zayn said earlier, she secretly cursed that bastard and explained to Dezi in a soft voice.

"Daddy’s in a bad mood and only said that out of anger. Dezi, you know that Daddy loves you very much, just like Mommy. You’re Mommy and Daddy's most precious baby." As she said this, tears fell uncontrollably.

Zayn clearly loved her and Dezi. What happened earlier did not seem to come from him.

However, he really said those hurtful words.

Little Dezi nodded, indicating that he knew. He rubbed his cheek against Lindsey's face.

Lindsey had gone upstairs and shut out all the things she could not accept nor understand, but the argument downstairs did not stop after she left.

Mrs. Wendy pulled Zayn's arm. "Zayn, tell me, is something wrong? How can you talk to Lindsey like that? How can you say that about the child? What are you trying to do?"

Zayn wanted to speak but stopped. He clenched his fists as he watched Lindsey walk towards the room upstairs and closed the door.

"It's because of Shaun Juhl." Zayn heard his voice that sounded cold, restrained, and impersonal. "Why do you think rumors are saying that the two of them are together? That’s because it's just the truth! I only proposed a divorce so that they can be together."

"What are you talking about?" Mrs. Wendy got angry. "Do you know how hard it was for Lindsey during this time? She had to take care of the child and help you find a lawyer. Shaun has helped Lindsey a lot, but he just loves Lindsey as a sister. Why don’t you get it?"

Mrs. Wendy’s face was red from exasperation, but Zayn was unmoved. He looked at the divorce agreement and was lost in thought. Then he just said, "I'm leaving", and left despite Mrs. Wendy’s resistance.
