"I just think that you didn’t hit him enough." Lindsey's eyes were still red, but her words were harsh.
Shaun just thought, ‘I didn't dare to hit him too hard because you’re the one who’ll get hurt the most.’
After Zayn left, it was pointless for them to stay. Before Lindsey left, she looked at the divorce agreement that was thrown on the floor and picked it up to tear it into pieces. She then left the scraps on the table.
When Zayn felt that they had left, he came out and saw a pile of torn-up paper.
Looking at the pile of shredded paper, Zayn suddenly laughed and his eyes became incomparably tender.
......
It was still early when Lindsey got back home. Dezi and Sieben were playing a game. When Dezi saw Lindsey, he immediately ditched Sieben and ran over to Lindsey. He held her hand and looked behind her.
When he saw Shaun, Lindsey clearly saw a disappointed look on Dezi's face.
Shaun must have seen it as well if she saw it. Shaun leaned down and picked the little guy up. He pretended to be angry and said, "What, you’re not happy to see Uncle Shaun?"
Dezi pursed his little lips and thought about it. He shook his head and pointed to Lindsey, then did a sleeping gesture before he showed a bright smile.
Shaun could instantly tell that Dezi was talking about Zayn.
He did not realize that Zayn was quite popular with children.
Shaun deliberately teased Dezi. "Dezi, why don’t you just live with Mommy and Uncle Shaun in the future?"
Little Dezi thought about it. He looked at Shaun, then at Lindsey. He looked distressed. After a while, he shook his head.
"Why not?" Shaun pretended to look hurt and said, "Didn't you just say that you like me?"
Dezi looked at Lindsey with pleading eyes. He really liked Uncle Shaun, but he also liked Mommy and Daddy. He remembered that Mommy and Daddy used to live together, so if he lived with Uncle Shaun, what would happen to Daddy?
The little boy still could not understand why he had to make such a difficult decision. However, he still rejected Shaun’s offer with what he knew.
Lindsey rolled her eyes at Shaun. "Brother, stop teasing him. He's about to cry."
As she said that, Lindsey carried Dezi and said. “Daddy’s coming back in a few days. Don’t listen to Uncle Shaun’s nonsense. We’ll still live with Daddy. Ask Uncle Shaun to hurry up and get married so you can have little cousins to play with. Isn’t that better?”
Dezi nodded fervently. Even though he did not know what marriage was, he wanted to play with little cousins.
Shaun, who wanted to make fun of Dezi, was instead teased by Lindsey. He could not hold back his laughter and his mind unconsciously wandered off to Yvette.
Yvette also seemed to like children.
The two of them played with Dezi for a while. Shaun still had some work to do, so he left shortly after.
Lindsey watched as Dezi and Sieben played a game. She stared at Sieben blankly for a while and suddenly thought of Soren, whom she had sent abroad.
"What's wrong?" Lindsey stopped and squatted down to look at him. "Are you tired?"
Dezi shook his head and Lindsey understood what he wanted. "Do you want to go to the bathroom?" The little head in front of her nodded gently.
"Let's go. Mommy will take you there." Dezi was already five years old, so he could not go to the women's bathroom, but he was independent and could go to the bathroom alone. Lindsey was worried about him at first, but after finding out several times that he could indeed do well by himself, she put her mind at ease.
The three ladies waited outside for about five minutes before he came back out.
Lindsey went up to straighten his clothes, but Dezi kept looking back inside the men's bathroom.
"What's wrong?" Lindsey followed his gaze, but there was nothing there. Dezi could not speak, so he made an angry face and reached out to make a tall gesture.
Lindsey raised her eyebrows. "Is there a tall man inside?"
Next to them, Yvette came over and asked, "What's wrong? Did he bully you?"
Little Dezi shook his head and touched his cheek.
Lindsey then saw a little red blush on his cheek near his neck.
"What happened? Did he pinch your cheek?" Lindsey nervously touched Dezi's arm. "Did he touch you anywhere else?"
