Lindsey Juhl had always reciprocated any kindness she received. When she heard this, she held the girl's palm, which was soft to the touch.

She smiled charmingly and said, "Alright, thank you."

Ginny smiled back at her and did not say more.

Lindsey acted as if she was not aware of anything and walked back to her desk. She pulled open her drawer and found a nicely wrapped box inside. Lindsey laughed in her heart and threw the box into the bin without another glance.

The few people next to her, who were waiting to watch the show, waited for a long time but did not hear Lindsey asking about the gift box. Nor did they hear her scream, so they were all disappointed.

Lindsey quietly took in these people’s reactions and only found it funny.

They were all adults yet still wanted to pull this kind of prank.

Although the company was abuzz with the cooperation with Denarius, there was still no official announcement. Lindsey tried her best to complete her task at hand so others would not pick out any more mistakes with her.

Shaun did not understand how Denarius suddenly decided to agree to this. However, after hearing the other party's additional conditions, he instantly understood Zayn's intentions.

He was trying to use work to settle his private matters.

"Mr. Juhl, the whole company is very optimistic about this cooperation. Although there are some doubts about Lindsey Juhl's ability, with all of us keeping watch, there should be no issues."

Shaun’s subordinates were still reporting about work, but Shaun sneered and thought, ‘Zayn Guggenheim, is it not enough to marry her? You even want to intervene with her work? Are you so anxious to tell others that your marital relationship isn’t perfect?’

After work in the evening, Shaun told Lindsey about the Denarius project.

Personally, he did not want Lindsey and Zayn to have any more involvement than their marriage license.

"Do you want to accept it? Linds, I want to get your opinion."

Lindsey swallowed the food in her mouth and said, "I'll follow the company's arrangement."

"What if the company's arrangement is for you to work with Zayn Guggenheim all day?" Shaun carefully observed Lindsey's expression.

Lindsey froze and averted her eyes, but she did not say anything.

Shaun had already gotten the answer he wanted and said, "Don't worry, I’ll find a way to put off the cooperation with Denarius."

His face was gentle and elegant, but his eyes were intense.

"Shaun, you don't have to do this for me." Lindsey hastily lifted her head and continued, "This cooperation is mutually beneficial for both companies. What happened between me and Zayn is our private matters."

"Don’t worry about it." Shaun's tone was resolute and added, "Eat up. I'll take you home after you’re done eating."

Lindsey could not convince Shaun and felt guilty that she had done nothing but cause trouble for her big brother.

Sure enough, there was news that Shaun Juhl had refused to cooperate with Denarius the next day.

The entire office was talking about it, but Shaun could not care less. He even came to the consulting department during his lunch break. He looked calm and collected as he received a lot of adoring gazes from women of all age groups.

However, his rival was obviously not as calm. Zayn had not gone home these past few days and had been spending the night at the office. After learning that Hemera refused to cooperate with Denarius, he was so angry that he laughed sarcastically.

"That overconfident bastard."

Quentin's head was lowered until it almost touched his chest. He was afraid that as an innocent bystander, he would get implicated in a war that did not concern him.

"I remember that the CFO of Hemera had invested a sum of money into the market not long ago." Zayn held a pen in his hand and gently tapped it on his desk.

Quentin knew that Hemera had it coming.

At a management meeting in Hemera.

"Do you want to save Hemera?" Zayn smiled and looked at Lindsey gently.

"What do you want?" Lindsey, however, did not dare to let down her guard.

"If you beg me, I’ll give Hemera another chance. How’s that?"

Lindsey did not believe him at all and only thought that this was another one of his ploys he came up with to make fun of her.

"Zayn Guggenheim, do you think I’ll believe your bullsh*t?"

Zayn abruptly changed his expression and said, "Since you’re not willing to beg here, then I don't mind changing a location."

In the next second, Lindsey saw the ground spin before her eyes. Zayn had once again carried her on his shoulder.

"Zayn Guggenheim, let go of me!"

He walked straight into the bedroom and threw Lindsey onto the bed. He then firmly confined Lindsey in his arms.

"Zayn, you bastard..."

"Beg me."

"No!"

Lindsey was dying of shame and anger. Her entire body went limp on the bed and she pulled over the quilt to cover her head...

Zayn let out a low laugh and turned to go to the bathroom. He then showered for a full thirty minutes.

After he came out, he instantly morphed back into his well-dressed CEO demeanor.
