Lindsey listened on the side and suddenly felt her heart aching. The child in her arms was still crying. She kept stroking his back to soothe his breathing and her eyes also turned red.

"I'll be there in about twenty minutes." Zayn looked at his watch. "No, fifteen minutes."

"Aunt Wendy, pass the phone to Dezi," Zayn said as he quickened his pace.

Ann chased after Zayn, but could not catch up with Zayn and she was left far behind.

When Ann got to the entrance, Zayn had already left in his car. Ann clutched her purse and was so furious that she almost exploded.

Zayn completely forgot about Ann’s existence. He instructed the driver to speed up while he was on the call.

There was faint sobbing coming through the phone, mixed with a few small hiccups. Zayn’s heart was astringent and his voice was incredibly gentle. "Dezi, it’s Daddy."

The driver in front of him heard such a gentle tone coming from Zayn and nearly stepped on the gas pedal as the emergency brake.

He was used to seeing Zayn in a bad mood, so when he suddenly heard Zayn speak with such a tone, the driver felt a little uncomfortable.

Zayn did not care how much of a shock he caused to others. The sobs on the other end of the call paused for a while. Zayn clutched the phone tighter and said, “Dezi, don’t cry, okay? Daddy will be there soon.”

Dezi’s tiny hands could not hold up the phone, so Lindsey held it up for him. She could clearly hear what Zayn said and the tenderness in his voice.

The tears in Dezi's eyes stalled for a moment because of Zayn's words. Before Lindsey felt heartbroken, the little one in front of her cried even harder and his tears flowed continuously. Dezi even pushed the phone in Lindsey's hand away.

The boy just kept shaking his head and looked very stubborn. This was the first time Lindsey saw Dezi throw such a big tantrum. She felt so heartbroken and carried Dezi as she carefully coaxed him.

The phone was tossed to the side. Zayn could hear Lindsey coaxing the child. Although it was a bit distant, Zayn could still clearly hear that Lindsey's tone was not right and Dezi was also choking in between sobs.

"Hurry up!" Zayn ordered in a cold voice and sounded completely different from his gentle voice earlier.

The driver did not dare to say that he was already driving at the speed limit because the President was obviously anxious to see his wife and child. He could not afford to delay the President.

The driver gritted his teeth and increased the speed again, not caring whether he would get a ticket, and drove with the fastest speed to Opal Suites.

The call was still connected. Zayn did not even wait for the elevator and ran up the stairs to the seventh floor.

Mrs. Wendy came to open the door for him. Before Zayn could see Lindsey and Dezi, he received a reproachful look from Mrs. Wendy.

He did not care much about it and walked in, then saw Lindsey sitting in the living room, holding Dezi in her arms and coaxing him in a soft voice.

Zayn’s heart stopped for a moment and he became a little breathless, as if the feeling of running up the stairs earlier just caught up with him at this moment.

"Dezi..." Zayn’s voice was low and gentle like he was afraid of disturbing them.

Lindsey turned around and saw Zayn standing behind her. Both of them were stunned. They had not seen each other for some time, but to them, it seemed like a long time had passed.

Whoever started the trouble should be the one to fix it. Somehow, Zayn managed to coax the little one, who gradually stopped crying.

His little body was still twitching and his eyes were red and swollen. The tip of his nose was also red, but his hands were clinging to Zayn.

From the corner of his eyes, Zayn could see Lindsey’s tear marks and red eyes. Zayn gently nudged Dezi and subconsciously tightened his grip.

Dezi cried so much earlier, but he still carefully let go of Zayn and signed to him.

Although Zayn was not with Dezi for a while, he could still understand what Dezi wanted to say. Dezi’s sign language vocabulary was limited, so many times, Zayn had to guess what he was saying and would get it right at once.

"Dezi, are you asking if Daddy doesn't want you anymore?" Zayn asked him in a small voice.

Dezi leaned his head on Zayn’s shoulder and grabbed Zayn's shirt like he was afraid that Zayn would run away.

When he heard Zayn's words, he nodded his head, but he also reached out and pointed at Lindsey. His meaning could not be clearer. "Mommy too."

Lindsey closed her eyes and walked in front of Zayn. Dezi looked so small compared to Zayn’s big build and he looked so pitiful.

She subconsciously did not want to hear Zayn's answer, so Lindsey spoke before he did, "Didn't Mommy tell you that Daddy will have a new family? But Daddy still loves Dezi very much and will never abandon you."

Zayn looked over at Lindsey, but Lindsey did not look at him and only focused on the child in his arms.
