It was like Lindsey felt something. She tapped on her phone before she spoke.

"Brother, I just came out of the hospital. I’m sure you already know all about it. The girl who was injured is fine now. I..."

Before Lindsey could finish her sentence, Shaun interrupted her, "Linds, did you ask Aunt Wendy to pick Dezi up from school today?"

Lindsey blinked and was confused for a moment, then her throat unconsciously tightened as she said, "I...I asked Aunt Wendy to pick him up."

She did not even realize how nervous she was at that moment and asked hurriedly, "Brother, what's wrong?"

"Something happened." Shaun's voice was soothing, but the words he said sent chills through Lindsey's body, "The bodyguard I arranged to protect Dezi couldn't be reached, and Aunt Wendy didn’t answer my calls."

"No way!" Lindsey subconsciously retorted. Her voice was so loud that it startled her assistant. Lindsey closed her eyes. "Brother, it's impossible. I just got off the phone with Aunt Wendy."

"When did you call her?" Shaun asked calmly.

Lindsey was at a loss for words because she suddenly realized that more than an hour had passed since she called Mrs. Wendy. She had been so worried about Lynn’s surgery over the past hour that she had not called again to confirm if they had arrived home safely.

Shaun did not insist on her answer and quickly said, "Come home first." Then, he hung up the phone.

Lindsey froze for a second, then hurriedly said to her assistant, "Sorry, I can’t send you home today. Pay attention to your surroundings and remember to send me a message when you get home safely. I have to rush home now."

After saying that, she reached out and held her assistant's shoulder tightly, then hurriedly ran towards her car.

Her assistant shouted behind her, "Ms. Juhl, don't worry about me! Drive safely!"

Lindsey did not even look back and got into the car. She then put on her seat belt and sped away. She lowered the car window a little, but the cold night breeze still could not calm her down. Lindsey tried calling Mrs. Wendy again, but no one answered the phone, just as Shaun said.

"Aunt Wendy is here with me now, but Dezi’s missing."

Lindsey was so confused when she heard this. Then, her voice suddenly rose and she shouted at the phone, "What did you say?! What do you mean Dezi is missing? Aunt Wendy picked Dezi up today. If she’s with you, how can Dezi be missing?!"

Zayn was yelled at by Lindsey, but he was not angry and said calmly, "Just stay where you are. I’m coming to Opal Suites now. I’ll explain it to you later. Listen to me, there are people around Opal Suites to protect you, so don’t come out."

His voice was stern, anxious, and concerned, but Lindsey could not hear anything at the moment. Only the words, “Dezi’s missing”, echoed in her mind.
