Ginny Young still wanted to say something else, but seeing Lindsey looking rather absent-minded, she did not probe further and said, "Then you should take a rest first. This matter can’t be rushed."

Lindsey also knew that this kind of thing could not be rushed. She could not help it if the client was not willing to talk to her.

She sat back at her desk and heard the people next to her whispering.

It was Fenly again!

Lindsey listened carefully and sure enough, the subject of their gossip was her.

"Are you serious? Lindsey’s the mistress of Denarius' President?"

Whitney was so into gossiping and said, “Yeah it’s true. I’m pretty close to some of our IT colleagues who went there. They said that this time at Denarius, all of our company's employees were on one floor, but Lindsey was placed upstairs at the door of the President’s office.”

Another girl from nearby joined in and said, “I also heard the same thing. I even heard that Denarius’ President is in a relationship with Denarius’ Consulting Department Manager, Ms. Lenig. She even admitted it herself, which means that Lindsey’s the third party."

"Who are you talking about?" Lindsey walked up to these people with her arms folded and asked with a calm face as if she was asking them about the weather.

The few of them immediately scattered and pretended to be busy with their tasks.

Seeing as no one replied, Lindsey coldly snorted. "As a team leader, I think your work attitude is very problematic. You don’t take your job seriously and gossip during work hours. You guys, finish the bi-annual report for the first half of the year and prepare the proposal for the second half of the year. I want it done before the end of the day or this month's bonus will be deducted."

Fenly wanted to retort, but she was held back by Whitney. In the end, Fenly only glared at Lindsey.

Lindsey did not even bother to glance at her.

She was Zayn’s legal wife yet she was being slandered as a mistress. Ha! Did they expect her to give them a laugh?

This was the first time Lindsey gave orders as a team leader, which felt pretty nice.

However, she felt that after coming back from Denarius, Fenly seemed to be more afraid of her and did not confront her as openly as before.

Ginny watched the whole thing and gave Lindsey a thumbs up. She then carried her cup and walked over to Lindsey.

"Not bad!"

Lindsey slapped her and said, "Don't laugh at me."

"I'm not laughing at you." Even though she said this, Ginny could not help but laugh and added, "Do you know why they’re like this?"

Lindsey was also puzzled and asked, "No, what happened?"

Ginny smiled mysteriously and after a long time, she finally said, "Hehe, I just heard about it. A few of them were gossiping and were caught by Mr. Juhl, who said at the time that if they were found to be gossiping again, they’d get fired."

‘Brother?’

Lindsey felt a warmth in her heart, which dispelled her depressed mood.

While the two of them were talking, there was a notification on Lindsey’s laptop. She had just received an email.

Quentin had sent her a new client profile.

Ginny saw that Lindsey was busy with her work, so she returned to her desk.

Lindsey looked at the documents and was confused. What was happening?

Luckily, Quentin soon called her to explain.

"How dare you call me a stray dog?!" Jenny's face was somewhat distorted with anger.

"I didn’t say that. I’m only saying that to whoever’s in the way. Ms. Lenig, are you trying to match my description?" Lindsey smiled and blinked her big eyes at Jenny, looking very innocent.

Jenny swallowed back her anger because her main purpose was not to argue with Lindsey. She said, "You’re a pretty good talker, huh? Lindsey Juhl, what's the use of winning me on this when Zayn only loves me?"

Lindsey looked as if she was not bothered, but her slightly clenched fist revealed her true emotions.

Jenny was smug as she raised her eyebrow and continued, “Lindsey, do you know why I left Zayn to be overseas?”

"I’m not interested." Lindsey was about to leave, but she was stopped by Jenny again.

"Are you not interested or do you not dare to face the fact that you’re the homewrecker?" Jenny's gaze was fixed on Lindsey as she added, "Actually, there was another reason why I left in the first place. Even Zayn doesn’t know this."

At a corner of the restaurant, the two women were sitting opposite each other. The atmosphere between them was tense.

"Can you say it now?" The dark clouds outside the window grew thicker, Lindsey did not want to deal with Jenny any longer than she had to.

"There’s no rush. Try the cake here. Zayn ordered this one on my birthday. I like it a lot." Jenny unhurriedly took a bite of the cake. She then saw the car that stopped not far away and something flashed in her eyes.

Her tears welled up almost in an instant. Jenny clutched her stomach, looking as if the pain was too much to bear.

"Ms. Juhl, you knew I was allergic to bananas. Why did you lie to me and said that it was a mango cake?" Jenny said it so coherently even though tears streamed down her face.

Lindsey could not understand what was happening. How would she know if Jenny was allergic to bananas? Jenny even ordered the cake herself.

The people around them began to look in their direction. Lindsey felt embarrassed and wanted to say something, but she saw the man who walked over from behind her.
