Lindsey nodded and went along with it. "Yeah, I didn't think that she’d do such a thing either."

Without waiting for Lydia to speak, Lindsey nodded and said aloud, "It's okay, I just suddenly thought about it. You can go about your work."

When she turned around, the harmless smile on Lindsey's face disappeared.

She closed her eyes and did not want to believe the speculation in her heart. Lydia was also involved in this matter with Jess. Lindsey definitely would not be mistaken. Earlier, she saw that Lydia looked a little guilty.

What was she guilty for?

After she came back to Hemera, she always had an uncomfortable feeling when she was with Lydia. Lindsey always thought that she was overly sensitive and thought too much, but now it seemed that Lydia did not keep up her act well enough.

Lindsey stood in place for a few seconds. When she opened her eyes again and her gaze returned to normal.

She did not come to work yesterday, so there were a bunch of things that needed to be dealt with and she simply did not have time to waste. By noon, Lindsey stretched her back and rubbed the back of her neck, then habitually shouted, "Jess, order a meal for me please."

After a few seconds of not hearing a response, Lindsey froze for a moment before she recalled that Jess had been fired.

A touch of unspoken emotion swept across her eyes. Lindsey grabbed her jacket and decided to go out for lunch instead.

She had just stood up when there was a knock on her office door. Lindsey was arranging some things on her desk. Without looking up, she said, "Come in." The person who would come to her at this hour was probably someone who needed her to review some documents urgently.

"Hey gorgeous, do you need any special services?" A high-pitched voice rang out after the door was pushed open.

Lindsey slowly raised her head and looked at the person with a smile under her eyes. "Yes, please. Someone with a strong and sexy body will do."

Yvette burst out laughing and came up to grab Lindsey by the arm. “Naughty girl, I meant lunch services. What strong and sexy body are you looking for, huh? ”

Lindsey tapped on Yvette’s nose and joked, "You should’ve told me earlier. I don’t want your services then."

"No, no, no!" Yvette pulled Lindsey’s arm and was petulant. "Come with me. I’ve already booked a place."

Lindsey laughed. "You're going on a date with my brother, so why are you always bringing me to be your third wheel?"

Yvette refuted, “What third wheel? The more the merrier! Also, my brother will be there, so it’ll be so awkward if it’s just the three of us, so you should come with!"

‘Awkward? Won’t it be more awkward if I went?’

Lindsey had not seen Yvette in a while mainly because Callum restricted Yvette from going to Hemera every day. Today, she finally found the opportunity to come, but Callum wanted to follow her.

The two men were already waiting downstairs with a meter-wide gap between them. Callum looked annoyed as he showed his discontent.

"Is Yvette flying to Mars? Why the hell is she so slow?!"

Callum knew his sister well and usually, he would not wait for her willingly, but he also did not want to leave these two alone, so he reluctantly waited with Shaun while he kept complaining.

Shaun knew that it was awkward with Callum when it came to Yvette. He showed a slightly doting smile and did not seem to mind. "It's not too bad."

Hearing him say that, Callum snorted coldly, but he did not say anything more. He then squeezed out all of his patience to continue waiting.

Although Shaun said this, his eyes were clearly smiling as he also enjoyed seeing Callum’s reaction. Yvette made a silly face at him and went to hold Lindsey with her free hand. "Lindsey, hurry up!"

Lindsey looked at Yvette’s smiling side profile and thought that everyone would surely love this bubbly girl.

Yvette wanted to try something new, so she chose an Indian restaurant. After they were seated, Yvette and Lindsey were discussing what they should order. Callum showed his big brother attitude and said, "Just order whatever. I'm busy and don’t have time to wait for you to be fickle-minded..."

Yvette turned to glare at him, then called the waiter over and ordered four spicy dishes.

Callum could not handle spice.

After she ordered, Yvette smiled sweetly at the waiter and said, "Alright, that’s all."

Callum was outraged. "Yvette Wendell! Do you have a death wish?"

Shaun held Yvette’s hand that was resting on the table to stop her from whatever she was about to say. He then took the menu and ordered a few non-spicy dishes. "That’s it for now."

After saying that, he said in a soft voice, "It’s not good for your stomach to eat too much spicy food. Eat something lighter."

Yvette’s temper instantly faded and lowered her head as she pouted and said, "Fine..."

Callum was treated like he was non-existent.

Lindsey was holding back her laughter until her stomach hurt.
