Lindsey Juhl was amazed at the speed at which such people changed their attitude, but this was good news for her. After finalizing the time with Jake Zanders, she left with her bag in hand.

Jake looked at Lindsey's departing back and wiped his cold sweat. He thought he had done a good job earlier taking the Chairman's hint.

He never would have expected that Lindsey was the wife of Denarius’ President. She still came out to work and meet clients even though she had such a huge backer as Zayn Guggenheim. Ordinary people could never understand the hobbies of the rich.

Lindsey knew that Zayn was of great help in closing a big client like Schanely Corporation, but she tried to suppress her curiosity. She did not ask him why he wanted to help her and why he announced their relationship in public because she did not want to get her hopes up too high.

After closing the Schanely project, Lindsey was commended at their weekly Monday meeting.

"Ms. Juhl, someone is looking for you at the reception." Since Lindsey frequently appeared with the top management of the company, everyone in the consulting department was much more polite to her, but only they knew what they secretly thought of her.

Lindsey put her things down, rubbed her sore neck, and casually asked, "Who is it?"

"They said they’re your parents."

Lindsey froze and thought, ‘Parents?’ Her heart beat wildly for a few seconds, then she quickly regained her composure.

‘What parents?’

She squeezed out a smile and said, “Alright, thanks.”

Lindsey had already guessed who the visitors were and hid the gloom in her eyes as she got up and went downstairs.

At the Hemera office lobby, a middle-aged couple was standing side by side. The man was dressed normally, but the woman was fashionable and looked like a socialite.

When Lindsey came down, Stephanie Lindt was impatient as they had been waiting for a long time. "Do you think that brat will see us?"

Henry Juhl did not reply and Stephanie did not expect him to answer. After muttering, she pulled a random person over and asked, "Lindsey Juhl is working here, right?"

The person nodded and Stephanie said in a loud voice, "I knew it! She must be hiding from us. We can’t just condone this. Let’s go upstairs to look for her!"

Stephanie dragged Henry, wanting to go upstairs, but she was stopped by the security guard and the receptionist. "Excuse me, you can't go up without an appointment."

"Then tell Lindsey Juhl to come out!"

"I'm right here. What do you want from me?"

When Stephanie saw Lindsey, she immediately let go of the person she had casually grabbed and walked forward.

Lindsey had not seen her in a long time, and at that moment, looking at the same face from her memories triggered a feeling of disgust.

She knew Stephanie’s temper. If she was left to make a scene here, Shaun might get implicated, so Lindsey hurriedly interrupted Stephanie before she could speak. "Let’s talk somewhere else." After saying that, Lindsey took the lead and went outside.

Stephanie was displeased at Lindsey’s attitude and wanted to retort, but she was held back by Henry, who whispered, "Let’s just follow her and see what she has to say."

She then cursed as she followed along.

Lindsey was unfazed by the nagging voice behind her and found a cafe nearby that had a private room. She then settled them down inside.

"Stop right there!" Stephanie stabilized herself and quickly yelled at her. When she saw that Lindsey had no intention to stop, she pushed Henry forward.

Henry's eyes were cold and he reached out to stop Lindsey.

"Lindsey." Henry raised Lindsey and knew that she was more inclined to listen after being coaxed instead of having something forced on her. He continued, "Your aunt’s temper is like that. Lindsey, don't get mad. I’ll apologize on her behalf."

Stephanie probably also felt that her reaction earlier was not appropriate because although the look on her face did not change, she no longer cursed up a storm.

She glared at Henry with disappointment and turned to Lindsey with her head held high. "Now that you’re married to Zayn Guggenheim and have been independent, you dare to talk to me like this just because we’ve gone bankrupt? Lindsey Juhl, don't forget who gave you the good life you have now! Without us, do you think you can climb to the top of the social ladder?"

Lindsey’s righteous eyes stared squarely at Stephanie as she said, "I will never forget the Juhls' 'great kindness'."

She said the words, "great kindness", with gritted teeth.

Stephanie did not hear the sarcasm in her words and said, "It's good you know that. You should repay us for raising you. Your uncle's company went bankrupt and we need money to re-establish it. We’re not asking for much. $20 million should be fine, right?

The look on Stephanie's face when she demanded this was as if it was her birthright. It was as if she was not asking for $20 million, but $2,000.

Perhaps Lindsey never held any expectations for Stephanie’s character. After listening to her, she could only think of the word, “shameless”.

Of course, not to mention $20 million, even if it was $2, Lindsey still would not give it to her.

Lindsey stood close to Stephanie and smiled as she said, “Mrs. Juhl, I used to think that you were just greedy and had a bad personality, but it looks like I’ve underestimated you. It’s so rare to see a person that’s as brazen and shameless as you. You want me to give you money? Dream on!”
