Every second that passed seemed to become extraordinarily slow. That scene seemed to be in slow motion and zoomed in that they could see the pattern of Allie's manicured nails in that instant.

Ann’s nails were a brilliant red and had swirls of dark gold on it. It was intricate, gorgeous, and deadly!

Sieben stopped her movement of jumping over.

"Run!" Zayn's voice came through the window and bore into their ears.

By instinct, Sieben subconsciously gathered all her strength to her hands and pulled Lindsey despite her struggles and delirious screams. They then ran away from the villa.

Her face was covered in tears but she dared not stop. All of a sudden, a loud explosion came from behind and a huge shockwave carried the two of them, who had not had time to run far enough, off the ground, which made them land face-first on the grass.

The last memory Lindsey had was the Wilford mansion that exploded, lighting up half of the sky in red hellfire.

Two kilometers away, Felipe Jipson and Shaun's group sat in the car and felt the ground shake, followed by the sky-rocketing flames. This scene was etched into everyone's eyes and hearts.

How many life-and-death moments would there be in a person's life?

How many deeply engraved moments could a person have that they would desperately try to cover up and forget? However, in the dead of night when most people were in their dreams, this “experience” would haunt them.

It seemed that it was impossible to break free, but one big explosion seemed to turn everything to ashes.

It was easy to die, then leave this nightmare to others.

Three days later, in a private hospital.

Lindsey jolted awake from her crimson dream and sat up violently before she could react to where she was. She fell back onto the white bed and stared at the equally white ceiling for a few seconds before she heard a voice.

"Lindsey, you're awake?!" Yvette’s voice was slightly hoarse. At the moment Lindsey fell back onto the bed, Yvette jumped over to the bedside and reached out to hold Lindsey's hand.

Lindsey's palm was cold, but Yvette’s was not much warmer.

She saw Lindsey’s eyes turning towards her slowly. Lindsey’s face was so pale that it seemed to blend in with the hospital bedsheets. Lindsey slowly looked at Yvette. Her gaze was sluggish and confused, and it was heartbreaking to look at.

"Why are you here?" Lindsey slowly spoke, then tried to sit up again.

This time, Lindsey learned from her previous experience and did not get up too quickly. Yvette supported her and she finally managed to lean back to sit on the hospital bed.

The private hospital room was clean and nicely decorated. As Lindsey laid on a bed that was overly large for a public hospital, she swept a glance around and asked, "What's going on? Am I...in a hospital?"

Yvette sniffled and nodded. "Mhmm...you have some light injuries and you’ve been sleeping for three days."

Lindsey's memory was in a mess for a moment. When she saw Yvette's somewhat reddened eyes, her memory still dwelled on the time she was knocked unconscious at the funeral home. She subconsciously rubbed the back of her head, but once she raised her hand, she found that her arm was stiff, and the pain she did not notice at her elbow earlier surged all of a sudden, which made her wince in pain.

"Ouch..what's going on? I've been sleeping for three days? Then what about...what about Ann? Did she get caught?"

Lindsey desperately told herself that she just needed to wake up from this nightmare. Why was she still in this nightmare after she woke up?

She gradually gripped the clothes on Yvette's chest and did not even realize how much force she used. "What about the police? Did they find anything? Did they find them?"

Although Lindsey knew from the bottom of her heart that the possibility of escaping such an explosion was almost negligible, she still did not want to say the word “body” and was in denial.

Lindsey did not believe it. She could not convince herself that everything was done, so she could only turn her expectant gaze to Yvette.

The expectation in her eyes was as deep as the ocean. Yvette finally could not hold back anymore. Her eyes turned completely red as she said, "Lindsey...don't be too sad..."

Yvette, who was always able to say all kinds of lovely things, was no longer as eloquent as she used to be. The only words she could say made her sad as well.

That was the last straw that broke the camel’s back. The light in Lindsey's eyes dimmed rapidly.

Lindsey’s eyes turned completely dark and nearly slid out of Yvette's embrace, but she stretched out her arm that was in immense pain to support herself.

"Where is it?" Lindsey’s eyes were hollow and completely blank as she stared into the void. Her voice was hoarse when she asked Yvette that question.

"What?" For a moment, Yvette did not understand what Lindsey was saying.

"The body," Lindsey spat out those two words with difficulty. "Where is it?"
