Lindsey had a feeling that the client was just bullying them.

This was settled for now. Quentin, who had been following up with this client, repeatedly felt that his head was about to explode.

However, it was natural to meet oddballs in the industry. Quentin thought he was used to it, but this was his first time seeing such a difficult client who had so many problems within just one week.

Quentin personally made a call to arrange an appointment for this order issue.

Both parties agreed to meet up in the afternoon. Lindsey specifically postponed a meeting to free up some time so that she could take her R&D staff to solve this problem.

Their appointment was made at a cafe not far from Denarius, which was decided by Quentin since the client was unfamiliar with Atlantic City.

Lindsey arrived fifteen minutes early. When she arrived, the other party had not yet arrived.

She only knew that the client was a young man named Anthony Locke. She went over what she was going to say in the meeting later in her mind and even anticipated what the other party might say.

After five minutes, there was a knock on the door of the private room.

Lindsey stood up. No matter how much she hated this client, she still had to show some respect.

The first person to push open the door and walk in was a waiter in a navy blue apron. He bowed slightly to the person inside and said, "Your guest has arrived."

The waiter stepped aside to make way for the guests.

Lindsey was picturing the client to be a playboy, which would explain why his thoughts were so unrealistic. However, when she saw the person who came in, she was dumbfounded.

The man was very tall and was wearing a long black coat due to the cold weather. However, it was warm in the private room, so the man looked out of place and even a little cumbersome.

He was none other than the man who covered himself up tightly that not even an eyelash was exposed, Salem City’s Mr. Cooper.

Since their last goodbye at the airport in Salem City, Lindsey would think of this person from time to time, but she never thought they would meet again so soon.

After all, the project with Tencello was not too big nor too small. There would be people from the project team and Finance Department following up on it. They would probably only meet again when the resort was complete and commissioned. Even so, they would probably just take a tour around the resort then go their separate ways after. From then on, the partners would earn the dividends of the resort.

It was true that life was unpredictable.

Lindsey could not tell if the look on her face was more surprised or shocked. She froze for a few seconds and found that Mr. Cooper was also stunned for a moment with a slight pause in his steps.

When Quentin called to make the appointment, he did not say who would be there for the discussion, so they probably thought it would be Quentin himself.

"Mr. Cooper?" Lindsey asked with indiscreet certainty although she was already sure in her heart.

The man across from her was still dressed as he was last time, wearing a hat, sunglasses, and a face mask. He still looked out of place among the other young people in the room.

Through his sunglasses, Lindsey could still feel his gaze on her.

However, in the business world, she could not be too blunt at times.

Lindsey was not mad and even pursed her lips and smiled. "That's really too much of a coincidence! Then, Mr. Cooper, you must give me this opportunity to do my best as the host."

Mr. Cooper nodded and did not say anything even though he did not know what she meant.

Her words were euphemistic, but her position was clear. Although she was still bitter about it, she had inexplicably put aside her anger when facing Mr. Cooper.

Mr. Cooper’s hands were folded on his lap. His back was straight and his wide-brimmed hat touched the back collar of his coat. From Lindsey’s point of view, she could only see a very pale earlobe that was unlike normal people.

Lindsey was shocked by her findings because his ear was sickly pale, not fair.

It was like he was extraordinarily frail.

‘Perhaps it’s the green vein at the tip of his earlobe that gave me the wrong impression,’ Lindsey thought to herself.

"Ms. Juhl, will you tell us how exactly is that troublesome?" The slow, deep, raspy voice scraped across Lindsey’s ears.

Lindsey's ears twitched, and that inexplicable sense of familiarity came surging again like some kind of familiar marker was hidden between his pauses and tone.
