When the elevator stopped at the floor where Jenny Lenig lived, Zayn did not step out. Jenny looked at him with confusion and surprise.

"I have something to settle, so I’ll leave first." After saying this, Zayn reached out and pressed the button to close the elevator doors, leaving Jenny in dismay.

Jenny stood frozen in place as her fantasies shattered to pieces.

Her face looked a bit distorted from both anger and embarrassment.

The elevator that Zayn was in did not go down to the first floor. Instead, it stopped a few floors below Jenny’s.

"Ding..."

The man walked out of the elevator modestly. There were only two tenants who lived on this floor. He stood in front of one of the doors and reached out to ring the doorbell.

Ginny was in her room doing yoga. When she heard the doorbell, she went over to the door and saw the man standing there through the peephole. Ginny even thought that she was mistaken.

She just had a video call with Lindsey earlier, so she knew that Lindsey had moved out of Shaun's apartment and was now living elsewhere. She also knew that Zayn was looking everywhere for her.

When she saw Zayn, Ginny's first thought was that he was looking for Lindsey. Her second thought was that he was looking for trouble.

Ginny chose not to open the door and waited for the man outside to leave.

Somehow through the peephole, the man's eyes unexpectedly met hers.

"I know you're at home. Open the door." The man's muffled voice sounded from outside the door.

Even though he clearly could not see her, Ginny was still startled and subconsciously took two steps back.

After waiting for a while, Zayn probably ran out of patience and made a phone call. Then a few minutes later, a few people came up.

In less than a minute, her door opened from the outside.

"I’ll pay for the door," Zayn said as he walked in, ignoring Ginny's stunned face.

After taking a few steps, Zayn thought of something and asked, "Which is Lindsey’s room?"

Ginny subconsciously reached out and pointed to a room upstairs.

She only returned to her senses after the man disappeared into the room and her door was repaired.

When she thought of Zayn’s cold face that looked like a corpse, she could not help but shudder. She thought, ‘This man is just so scary!’

Zayn never came out of the room after going in. Ginny did not know what he was up to and only thought of calling Lindsey after standing dumbfounded for a long time.

Just as she took out her phone, a hand came up behind her and snatched her phone.

Ginny turned back to meet a smiling face that said, “Ms. Young, I’ll keep your phone for tonight. When the President leaves tomorrow morning, I’ll return it to you in perfect condition.”

She stared at the person with wide eyes. Ginny was scared of Zayn, not of the man in front of her, so she reached out to grab her phone. "Who the hell are you? Give me my phone!"

The man smiled faintly and replied, "My name is Quentin."

Ginny was not sure how he did it, but she could not reach her phone no matter how hard she tried. Finally, the man retreated to the door and said, "The network in the apartment has been completely cut off. Ms. Young, please sleep early tonight. Goodbye!"

"Bastard!"

What she got in response was the man closing the door with force.

The man upstairs still did not make a sound. Ginny opened the main door and saw two people standing outside. They nodded politely when they saw her.

Ginny wanted to go out, but she was stopped at the door by these two people.

They were trying to cut off her contact with the outside world.

When Ginny thought about the man upstairs, she was not worried about her own safety, but Zayn's approach had always made her feel uneasy.

She was feeling uneasy for Lindsey.

Lindsey was also aware of this problem and incidentally thought about Zayn and Jenny walking hand in hand. She felt a tingling pain in her heart as she thought, ‘Did this mean that Zayn’s determined to get a divorce?’

However, no matter what kind of method he used to get a divorce, Lindsey could not accept being slandered like this, much less dragging Shaun through the mud in the process.

Lindsey was unsure if she was more upset or disappointed, or perhaps she already had the mental preparation that this man did not belong to her. Lindsey ignored the compression she felt in her chest and did not feel so dejected afterward.

"Linds, there's one more thing." Shaun's voice sounded again.

Lindsey calmed herself and tried to make her voice sound natural. "What is it?"

"The company wants you to resign because of this scandal."

Shaun's words were euphemistic. In fact, the order from the company's top management was to directly dismiss Lindsey.

Since he was now also a target, he was in no position to speak for Lindsey.

Moreover, before he could say anything, everyone was already looking at him dubiously. If he spoke for Lindsey now, it would stir up more public discussion.

"Okay. Don’t worry. I’ll hand in my resignation soon." Lindsey could already imagine the situation she and Shaun were in now at Hemera.

"I’m sorry I couldn't help you." Shaun was blaming himself.

Lindsey certainly did not blame him. Instead, she felt sorry for him.

"Linds, the analysis of the tampered photos will be out tomorrow. I'll take care of it, so don't worry too much."

Lindsey answered somewhat absent-mindedly and hung up the phone.

She was thinking about the purpose of Zayn's actions. She felt that the only way Zayn would let go of her and not take it out on others was if she returned to that cage or if she completely cut off all ties with him.

After making a decision, Lindsey simply washed up and went out.
