Watching Rebecca furrow her brow, Daniel felt a pang of concern in his chest. "Rebecca, is something troubling you?" he asked gently.

"No, Daniel, what trouble could I possibly have?" Rebecca replied, putting on a brave face.

The more Rebecca denied it, the more Daniel was convinced that something was weighing on her mind. "Rebecca, we’re best friends. You can tell me anything. If there’s something I can do to help, you know I will," he assured her earnestly.

Rebecca shook her head, "Really, it’s nothing, Daniel. Thank you for your kindness."

"Are you sure?" Daniel pressed, still uneasy.

"Truly, there’s nothing."

Rebecca swiftly changed the subject, "Daniel, do you know what my biggest wish is?"

"What is it?" Daniel asked, curious.

Rebecca smiled warmly, "My greatest hope is that one day, there won’t be a single orphan in Luxphinia. Every child should be born into a loving family!"

At that moment, Daniel felt as though Rebecca was glowing with a radiant light.

In this world, driven by self-interest, how many people could still possess such kindness and purity as Rebecca?

Rebecca sighed, then continued, "Look at these children, Daniel. Aren’t they adorable? I can’t fathom how their parents could abandon them. Maybe they had their own hardships, but no matter what, they shouldn’t have left their children."

"People wear many faces, Rebecca. Not everyone is as kind-hearted as you," Daniel said.

Rebecca blushed slightly, "Daniel, you’re giving me too much credit. I haven’t done much. I was born into a wealthy family and am just doing what I can."

"If everyone thought like you, these orphans wouldn’t have such a hard life," Daniel replied. "Anthea is also wealthy, but I’ve never seen her donate a penny to an orphanage."
