The assistant nodded, "Understood."

One of their projects went south, and they’re facing a severe financial crisis, teetering on the brink of bankruptcy!"

Daniel frowned.

So that was it. No wonder Rebecca was so upset earlier.

Daniel continued, "Have everyone prepare. We’re going to start collaborating with the Morris Group immediately."

Given the current situation, partnering with the Morris Group is the only way to stabilize things and help them through this crisis.

Before Rebecca even got home, Daly received a call from the Robinson Group to discuss a potential partnership!

Just then, Sherman walked in from outside.

The two women immediately paused their conversation. Adah opened the incense holder to replace the sandalwood stick.

"Mom, Grandma," Sherman greeted them warmly.

Adah held the sandalwood, "Sherman, can I borrow your lighter?"

"I don’t have one," Sherman replied.

"Where’s your lighter?" Adah asked, surprised.

Sherman answered succinctly, "I threw it away."

Adah was taken aback, "Why did you throw it away? Have you quit smoking?"

"I quit," Sherman replied in a calm tone.

"You quit smoking?" Adah asked, almost incredulously.
