Chapter Sixteen

Her 5’5 frame is too small compared to his frame of 6’1. She struggles to fix his collar even when she stands on her tippy toes, so he bends down and holds her waist, seeing her standing too far for his liking.

"Oh. So, now you want her to stand close to you? After hurting her?" His inner self mocks him yet again.

Sahaan is shocked by his sudden actions. She stops fixing his collar, all she can feel is the tingles from his hand on her waist shooting up to her spine.

"Hurry up. And get lost.” Ahmed says when he notices that she stopped fixing his collar.

Sahaan continues her work with shaky hands, eyes tearing up at his harsh word.

When she’s done fixing his collar, she tries to leave. But Ahmed pulls her back. She collides with his hard chest. She tries to push him back, but he doesn't even budge.

"You didn’t answer yet. Do you get happy seeing us in misery?" He jerks her closer to himself.

She looks up with tears in her eyes. She moves her hand from his chest to his collar, giving it a last fix, trying to distract her mind.

"You’re wrong, Mr. Khan. Look closely and you’ll see everything clearly. But what can we do? It’s a human tendency to start respecting and valuing things only when they are gone.” She states in a confident yet cold tone.

Shock flashes through his eyes, seeing the intensity in her eyes. His arms immediately loosen around her waist.
