From what Shannon knew, demons usually tracked targets by sensing their presence or relying purely on scent. Though such methods could work, she preferred using human scientific techniques for tracking.

Following directions displayed on the map, the three traced the path all the way to the outskirts of Jamborough.

Bianca, who'd initially appeared relaxed, now showed a slightly more serious expression. "They left Jamborough? Could the kitten have really been abducted?"

Shannon checked the map and replied, "We're not sure if it was an abduction, but the two demon younglings parted shortly after leaving the city."

If the kitten had been kidnapped, the two demons wouldn't have split up.

Cornelius glanced at the two different location markers on Shannon's phone and said, "We'll know what's going on once we find them both."

Shannon looked at him and suggested, "Let's split up then."

Before either of them could respond, she added, "I'll find the kitten while you two search for the foreign demon youngling."

Bianca wanted to object. How could they allow a newcomer to search alone, after all?

But before she could speak, Shannon silently pulled out the identification card of an official Demon Control Agency agent. She might be a new student in the special demon class, but she was a fully registered agent.

With that, she split from them and went her way.

Once the two left, Albany and Benji Gold popped out. The latter had sensed Shanny Gold's location and was eager to lead the way.

But when it noticed Shannon following directions on her phone, it tilted its head in confusion. Albany asked, "Aren't we going to find Benjamin?"

Shannon replied, "We are. But first, we have to complete the mission at hand."
