Steen stayed at the panda base for four days.

Though his supernatural powers returned on the second day, he still followed through on his plan to stay a couple more days.

During these four days, life was sweet. There was no school and no supernatural strength cultivation. All he had to do was eat and sleep on repeat.

Other than fresh bamboo and bamboo shoots for main meals, he received all kinds of snacks like apple treats and goodies. He honestly didn't want to leave anymore.

Right now, Steen sat lazily against the wall with his plump, fluffy belly sprawled out in full post-meal satisfaction. But the tiny eyes behind those panda black circles showed a hint of sadness.

It was time to go home.

Just as the thought crossed his mind, he heard familiar footsteps approaching. It was Benson Moss, the keeper, who'd been taking care of him these last few days.

Benson came in and tidied up the space a bit. After cleaning, he noticed Steen sitting motionlessly.

He thought about it and walked over. Then, he fished something out of his pocket and mysteriously tucked a fresh baby bamboo shoot into Steen's arms. It was Steen's absolute favorite snack.

Caught off guard by the surprise gift, Steen was instantly more reluctant to leave.

"Benson… I'm leaving today," he murmured.

Though he'd been here for just four days, he'd heard a lot from the chatty Benson, like how there was a celebrity panda at the base, who was hugely popular online. Or how there was a recognized panda couple, who frequently gave public displays of affection.

Most of all, Benson talked about a panda named Button, whom he raised from when she was palm-sized. Button had recently been selected for wild reintroduction because of her recent excellent performance.

Wild reintroduction involved selecting pandas with outstanding traits and gradually releasing them back into the wild. It was aimed to reduce human interference bit by bit and help them adapt to surviving in nature.

Since Button left, Benson had constantly been thinking about it. He was worried it might face danger out there alone.

Steen didn't have strong opinions about panda conservation efforts. It had nothing to do with him anyway.
