Never mind whether 60 dollars was considered expensive or not. The real matter at hand was that she had never once encountered a young lady who directly asked for money after all the time she had spent serving Elysia.

Even when funds were needed, it was customary for the other party to offer them of their own accord. Never had she known anyone to boldly set a price so directly.

Liora hurried back to the main house, only to be informed that Fenric had fallen ill early in the morning.

Upon arriving, Liora found chaos reigning in the house. The maids and servants knelt outside, while both Elysia and Solvanna were inside. Fenric was in the midst of a tantrum.

"These wretched servants!" he fumed, his voice sharp with anger. "They sent me spoiled food for breakfast! It's their fault…"

He retched, continuing, "Take them all, especially those in the kitchen, and have them punished!"

When Liora entered and inquired further, she learned that Fenric had been so enraged the previous night that he had skipped dinner.

This morning, he woke up feeling hungry, and the kitchen had prepared a large spread for him.

However, as soon as he tasted the food, he vomited it all up. He insisted that the meal was spoiled and foul-smelling.
