Skye noticed the pale look on Grace's face and couldn't help reaching out to touch her forehead.

Then, she cried out in alarm, "Oh no! Why are you so cold? Did you catch a cold? Where were you out all night in this weather? You could have frozen to death!"

Skye, Grace, and Serena shared the same room and were relatively close. Muttering worriedly, Skye grabbed some covers from the side and wrapped them around Grace.

Noticing Serena still frozen at the door, she impatiently called out, "Serena, why are you just standing there? You're letting all the warmth in the room out!

"Get in here and stoke the fire. Grace's freezing!"

Serena shuddered and snapped out of it under her shout. Though every part of her longed to run, her legs moved stiffly toward the room.

She dared not approach Grace. Instead, she numbly walked to the furnace and added more charcoal.

Perhaps too shaken, her hand brushed the hot edge, and she was instantly scalded. "Ah!"

Skye immediately forgot her earlier questions directed at Grace and rushed over in exasperation. "How could you be so careless? You're going to serve the future queen. One slip like that and you'll get cast out!"
