Shannon followed the Jensens back to the Jensen residence.

Even Eva, the youngest, had been taught to act more appropriately. She even greeted Shannon when the latter came back.

When Shannon got to the Jensen residence, Hector was standing at the entrance. He smiled at her, just like the way he did when he first saw her.

"Welcome home, Shannon."

Cecily had been waiting in the living room, too. When she saw Shannon, she immediately said sweetly, "It's so good that you're back, Shannon. Grandpa had sent out invitations to all the families, inviting them to come over for the dinner banquet tonight.

"We wouldn't know what to do if you didn't come back."

Her voice was clear and melodious, but her words insinuated that the family didn't coax Shannon into coming back because they wanted her back. They simply wanted tonight's dinner banquet to proceed smoothly.

A sensitive person might have started doubting their worth and feeling insecure.

However, Shannon eyed Cecily before remarking with a smirk, "It's just a dinner event. It can always be postponed to tomorrow if it doesn't work out today.

"I doubt people would deny me as the Jensen family's daughter just because the family didn't throw a banquet for me."

Turning to Hector, she added, "Isn't that right, Hector?"
