Shannon thought that Carlos was only objecting to Juniper's plans of staying in the mountains overnight, but to her surprise, Carlos had rejected her plans as well.

She frowned.

"We can promise not to enter the mountains, but you shouldn't stop us from taking action at night."

Before Carlos replied, Shannon continued earnestly, "Many spirits in the mountains are active at night. It's also at night when the disturbances in the village and the mountains happen. If we're not allowed to do anything at night, it'll be almost impossible for us to catch the real culprit."

Carlos was exasperated when he heard that.

The cast members were only required to figure out the truth in the first place. They didn't have to catch the culprit at all!

The police should be the ones in charge of catching culprits, after all. Carlos couldn't possibly ask the cast to do that.

Once they found out the truth and provided reasonable proof for it, they would have completed their mission. However, both Shannon and Juniper had complicated the task.

Juniper seemed to have seen through Carlos' thoughts as he explained, "If we want to determine whether the mountain spirits were behind this or not, we have to catch them first. Only then can we figure out the truth."

Neither Shannon nor Juniper was willing to back down. Carlos couldn't change their minds, so he could only reassure himself that even if they waited at night, the culprit might not actually show up as Shannon had predicted.

Also, with so many crew members around to keep an eye on things, the cast would probably be safe.

Hence, the matter was settled.

Shannon and Juniper began discussing the items they should prepare for tonight.

Olivia and Vincent stood nearby, unable to chime in at all.

"Do we have to keep watch tonight as well?" Olivia asked meekly. The crew had given out talismans to protect them, but if she really had to participate in such operations, she would still feel overwhelmed and scared.

Glancing at Olivia, Shannon said, "You can just go to bed. I'll protect you."

Shannon spoke in a casual tone, but Olivia suddenly felt touched. Meanwhile, the livestream was filled with screaming comments as well.

Someone commented, "Is it just me or does Shannon look incredibly cool and dependable just now? She's supposed to be the younger one, right?"
