Juniper was still dumbfounded as Shannon left with Kai. The former rarely looked so dazed, and Carlos couldn't help coming over to check on him in concern. He stared at Carlos and asked, "Were you aware that Sha—Ms. Jensen was Ms. Rosalind?"

Carlos was caught off guard by this question. He didn't know how to explain that he was unaware at first. All he knew was that Fred had somehow stumbled upon a true master and had spent a fortune purchasing 20 shielding talismans.

He'd only learned about Rosalind's existence after hearing Juniper mention her… not that he'd said anything about it.

Juniper took Carlos' silence to mean that the latter was aware of Shannon's identity, and his expression turned upset. "If I'd known Ms. Rosalind was part of the crew, I wouldn't have joined the filming, knowing that my capabilities were far below hers."

It was no wonder Martin had gone out of his way to give Shannon those Starry Skies when Juniper hadn't gotten anything.

Carlos was stunned by his words. What the hell was going on here? Was Juniper thinking of quitting filming when he'd yet to even find a replacement for Soren? That wouldn't do! He immediately pulled Juniper away to appease him and talk some sense into him.

Meanwhile, Shannon and Kai got into the car the crew had prepared and headed to the airport. They happened to pass Eddie. Shannon noticed how Kai kept staring at Eddie and suddenly remembered Kai saying that he hadn't saved Eddie in the mountains.

She asked him about it. Kai narrowed his eyes smugly at her rare question for him and said, "Can't you tell what happened? Aren't you supposed to be really powerful?"

She looked at him emotionlessly. "Are you going to talk or not?"

He curled his lip. "I wasn't lying to him. I didn't save him that night—the deity he worships is the one who protected him."
