After Hector hesitated briefly, he walked toward Cecily's doll room.

Hank and Scott heard the commotion and rushed over from their rooms. All three of them arrived at Cecily's room at the same time.

Hector raised his hand to knock on the door, but before he could touch it, a flash of white shot past him. A small, furry figure leaped toward his outstretched arm.

Hector instinctively pulled his hand back and took a step backward.

When he realized it was Marshmallow, his eyes showed a hint of surprise. Marshmallow had never behaved like this before in the Jensen residence.

Scott was equally bewildered. "Marshmallow, what's wrong? Are you hungry?"

His question was met with a low growl from Marshmallow.

It quickly turned around with its fur standing on end. Though it was normally cute and docile, it now bared its teeth fiercely in their direction.

Its body was lowered and poised for attack as it emitted a series of low growls. It was the kind of sound an animal would make when threatened.

Scott was started by its unusual aggression and about to say that Marshmallow might have been triggered when he noticed that its hostility wasn't directed at them. It was at the door in front of them instead.

Hector noticed this as well. His eyes narrowed slightly, and he spoke in a cold tone, "Scott, Hank, step back."

Scott didn't hesitate. He quickly retreated a large step from the door.

Seeing Hank standing at the door as if trying to rush in, he reached out to pull the latter back. "Didn't you hear what Hector said?"

Though Hank was concerned about Cecily, he could tell something was wrong based on Marshmallow's behavior.

He reluctantly let Scott pull him away while his eyes were still fixed on the door. He shouted, "Cecily, are you in there? What happened?"
