Marie had felt diffident when she'd called out to Shannon.

She was worried that Shannon might publicly disregard her as the latter had previously ignored her and only thanked George. Plus, she'd seen the two ghosts following Shannon with her own eyes.

Despite her fear, she kept reminding herself that Shannon was her granddaughter and should obey her words. There were times when she couldn't hold back from wanting to assert her authority as a grandmother.

Marie breathed a secret sigh of relief and sat up a little straighter. She began introducing Shannon to Zane, "Zane, this is Shannon, Uncle Adam's daughter. We found her not long ago as mentioned to you before."

Zane nodded and glanced at Shannon before pointing to the suitcase Thomas had just brought in. The suitcase had been disinfected, and Thomas immediately understood and opened it when he saw Zane pointing at it.

The suitcase was neatly packed, and there was an exquisite long box with a small tag hanging on it. There were the words "Shannon Jensen" on it.

Thomas brought the box over and smiled, saying, "This is a gift for Ms. Shannon, isn't it?"

Shannon was slightly surprised as she looked at the box in Thomas' hands. She instinctively glanced at Zane, who nodded and quickly typed on his phone.

A mechanical male voice followed. "A homecoming gift".

Shannon was pleasantly surprised. When she first returned to the Jensen family, the elders had all prepared gifts for her, but only Hector had given her a gift among her peers. Zane was the second.

Standing nearby, Hank and Caleb both had subtle expressions on their faces as they quickly wondered if they'd ever given Shannon a gift when she first came home. The answer was no.
