Shannon figured it couldn't have been the Jensens. Besides the directly involved parties, only George knew the full story. Not even Marie knew, let alone Hank and the others.

"How do you know that?" Shannon asked.

Zane responded with a mocking smile. Instead of typing out his response, he raised two fingers and pointed them at his eyes.

Shannon froze. She didn't know sign language, but the gesture was clear. Zane must have seen it with his own eyes.

She found it hard to believe. Apart from the incident in Northgate, could Linda have done anything else inappropriate? But if she had, how could none of the Jensens have noticed?

She suddenly recalled what she'd heard about Zane's condition. He'd never been close to Linda, and he'd refused to return to the Jensen residence when Marie had tried to bring him back. But he returned on his own accord after Linda went abroad.

"When did you find out?"

Zane seemed somewhat disappointed by her calm demeanor. He lowered his head and quickly typed. "When I was around four, maybe."

Despite Shannon's best efforts to remain calm, she couldn't help but gasp. Four years old?

But on second thought, it was fairly possible. Zane, who had a childling's fate matured, early and was sharper than other kids his age though he was frail. It seemed plausible he might have sensed something if Linda had done anything unusual.
