Shannon ignored her teasing and got straight to the point. "Do you know who Caleb's bringing?"

"How would I know? I barely know Caleb," Clara replied without hesitation.

Shannon raised an eyebrow. "Why would you invite someone you barely know to your birthday party?"

"I didn't. I invited Hank. We're both from Seastone University, and our families know each other.

"Caleb is a year above us and never paid us much attention, but when he heard it was a costume party, he insisted on coming and wanted to bring a friend. So, why not? The more the merrier I guess."
