Marshall turned to Camryn. "Why the heck did you just take a selfie?"

Camryn was confused while holding the phone. "I didn't press anything!"

Marshall wanted to argue that the phone wouldn't capture a picture if he hadn't pressed anything, yet before he could say so, the same selfie appeared on the monitor screen. At the same time, his very own phone and tablet lit up with the exact photo.

The two looked at the flashing screens and plunged into terror. Not only because the other screens displayed the same photo, but also because… they had unplugged the Internet cable! If this was malware, how did the devices receive the photo without being connected to the Internet?

"What the hell?" Camryn exclaimed and tossed his phone to the desk.

Marshall, on the other hand, reacted much more calmly than him. He wiggled the mouse, confirmed it wasn't moving, and switched off the computer. Only then did the two heave a breath of relief…

Their relief was short-lived, though, as they were immediately terrified by the sight before them. The computer they had switched off turned on automatically, and with a click, the monitor displayed their selfie again.

"W-What's going on? Do something about it! Aren't you a computer expert?" Camryn shoved Marshall toward the computer, but the latter was obviously frightened.

How could a normal computer virus turn on a shut-down computer by itself? This was definitely not something that could be done with regular technology. It wasn't like his family was being controlled by some secret organization either!
