Chapter 113 

Lily walked through the villa gates, pulling her suitcase behind her. The moment she stepped inside, she saw the tall silhouette of a man standing by the floor–to–ceiling window. 

His hawk–like gaze landed on her through the glass, like a beast hunting in the darkness. His eyes glimmered faintly, filled with an ominous light. 

It had been nearly two hours since he’d sent the message. For Lily, those two hours had been tormenting. For Xavier, the fire burning in his chest only grew stronger with each passing second. 

“So, Mrs. Fulton, you do remember your way back home,” he said, a cigarette held between his fingers. 

The ashtray by his side was overflowing with cigarette butts, packed so densely it looked like a hedgehog 

Lily set down her suitcase, changed into slippers, and walked toward him. “Did you have someone follow me?” 

Xavier suddenly laughed. “You don’t hold that much weight in my heart, Mrs. Fulton. You think I’d go to the trouble of keeping tabs on you?” 

Then, who had sent her photos to Xavier? Suddenly, a face flashed through Lily’s mind–Sarah. 

“Then, who sent you those photos?” she asked. 

“What’s wrong? You spent the entire way here unable to come up with an excuse, and now you want to turn the tables and question where I got the photos.” 

Xavier’s expression darkened. Now was not the time to argue over such details. 

The cigarette between his fingers burned slowly, accumulating a long ash at the tip. Swirling smoke enveloped him completely, but his fury cut through the haze, striking Lily’s face directly. 

“I wasn’t just having dinner with Terence. There were also.” Lily tried to explain: 

But as her gaze met his eyes, which surged with anger, disdain, and mockery, her throat tightened, and she could not say another word 

Xavier felt as if he’d been betrayed in the worst way. He raised his hand and clasped Lily’s slender, pale neck, his thin lips nearly brushing against her 

cheek. 

“Every night, you’re under me, yet you secretly have dinner with another man. Lily, don’t you find yourself disgusting?” 

A sharp pain pierced Lily’s heart. Xavier’s version of her was indeed despicable. But that version wasn’t the real her! He didn’t even give her a chance to explain! 

“If that’s the case, why did you bother coming back? Let the Devereux family clean up your mess. Let’s see just how far Terence is willing to go for you.” Instinctively, Lily gripped his wrist with both hands, gasping for air. Her eyes grew misty, welling up with tears. 

“It’s not what you think…” 

The atmosphere froze, and the massive villa became shrouded in a suffocating, deathly stillness. 

Her phone rang in her pocket, the cheerful ringtone cutting through the tension like a death knell, failing to ease the atmosphere. 

Xavier’s hand trailed down her slender waist, reaching into her pocket to take out the phone. 

“Terence.”
