It wasn’t long before Timothy stepped out of the elevator and knocked on the stairwell door. He hurried over when he saw Xavier Inside. 

“Mr. Fulton, it’s Mr. Hayden He had an episode. His conditions seems quite severe.” 

“What did the doctor say?” X 

Xavier exhaled a faint plume of smoke. His chiseled features were obscured in the smoke. 

Timothy sighed softly and said, “Dr. Dawson is skilled, but Hayden’s condition is more complicated than most. He didn’t dare to take the risk that could jeopardize his career.” 

Some cases could only be improved by taking calculated risks. It might be safe to take conservative treatment, but the chances of recovery were slim. In other words, Xander wasn’t treating Hayden to cure him. He was treating him to protect his own repetation. 

“How is she?” Xavier flicked the ash from the cigarette. His gaze was dark and cold. 

“Mrs. Fulton is distraught. She had been begging Dr. Dawson to do whatever it takes to help Hayden, but he didn’t give her a clear answer.” Timothy couldn’t help but feel pity as he recalled Lily’s state earlier. “Mr. Fulton, are you going to check on her?”

After a moment of silence, Xavier’s Adam’s apple bobbed as he swallowed. “It’ll only hurt them even more if the reporters catch wind of it and bring Hayden’s case to the table again.” 

Hayden’s case had caused a huge uproar. It had only faded from online discussions for now. The incident had only recently settled down and still lingered in people’s minds. 

Thus, it would cause idle gossip at best if Hayden were to reappear in the public eye because of him. The real trouble would come from irrational or overly aggressive individuals showing up at the hospital to create chaos. 

“I didn’t think of that.” Timothy realized the potential consequences after Xavier pointed them out. 

“Contact Rowan and have him return.” Xavier extinguished his cigarette. “Handle it quietly.” 

Timothy couldn’t understand why Xavier always preferred to operate in secrecy. However, Sarah suddenly appeared before he could respond. 

“Xavier, what about Xyla if Rowan comes back?” 

Xavier glanced at her indifferently. “Kyla’s psychological condition has stabilized. She doesn’t need Rowan to stay by her side constantly.” Sarah’s tone grew anxious. “What if she relapses?” 

“Then we’ll have her return to the country too. She’ll be closer to Rowan that way.” Xavier had made his decision. 

“But…” Sarah instinctively tried to argue further but stopped when she sensed his growing impatience. 

She regained her composure and spoke again. “Xyla’s health isn’t strong enough for long–distance travel. I think she should stay where she is for now.” “Go and arrange for Rowan to return.” Xavier tossed the cigarette butt into the trash and turned around to stride away after giving his order to Timothy. Timothy followed suit. “Mr. Fulton, where are you heading next?” 

“Go do your job. Don’t worry about me.” Xavier entered the elevator before the doors slowly closed, gradually obscuring his handsome and sharp features.
