Timothy had hoped Sarah might help diffuse Xavier’s anger, but who would have guessed she would add fuel to the fire instead? 

She said, “Are you jealous? Did Ms. Joyner attend the design exhibition with Terence without informing you?” 

Xavier’s face darkened even further. 

“Ms. Lynde.“Timothy couldn’t help but quietly remind her. “Please, stop talking” 

“What’s the big deal?” Sarah responded as if it was nothing “They must have attended the exhibition for work instead of a private date. Haven’t I also spent countless weekends having meals with male clients…” 

Xavier glanced at her coldly. The intensity in his eyes instantly silenced her as though something was stuck in her throat. 

She heard Xavier say without hesitation, “You should know your place. She’s not the same as you.” 

Sarah’s outings with male clients were purely work–related. She was single even if it weren’t for work. It had nothing to do with him whether she had dinner or slept with someone. 

However, Lily was different. She carried the title of his wife. 

“Ms. Lynde, please step out if you’re done here. I still have to report work to Mr. Fulton!” Seeing Sarah add fuel to the fire, Timothy quickly stepped in to usher her away. 

Sarah seemed to freeze. Her entire body was numb. However, she tried to act as if nothing had happened 

“Alright. I’ll leave you to it then.” With that, she turned around and left the office. Her chest was filled with jealousy. 

She and Lily were fundamentally 

ally different, weren’t they? How exactly were they different? It was just that Lily had used some tricks to marry him! She wasn’t inferior to Lily in any way! 

However, the fact that Xavier cared enough to mind Lily being with Terence worked in her favor! 

The photo had been taken by someone she had sent to follow Lily. She didn’t dare use an anonymous number to send it to Xavier this time. 

He wouldn’t care who the anonymous sender was and wouldn’t bother to investigate if she sent it once. However, he might grow suspicious if it kept happening. Therefore, she chose to create a coincidence

Meanwhile, Lily and Terence finished touring the design exhibition at 1:00 pm Maryanne 

“Terence, aren’t you busy this afternoon?” she asked after placing the order. 

She chose a local restaurant in Jadeford that she used to visit with 

Terence was dressed in a black trench coat with a sporty top underneath. His sleeves were rolled up, revealing his defined wrists. 

“I’m not busy. Do you have something else to attend to?” His dark eyes held a subtle expectation 

Lily shook her head. “Not really. I just thought we could pack up some of Maryanne’s favorite dishes to take home for her if you’re free,” 

They were more like small snacks rather than dishes. 

Maryanne would pack some to enjoy while watching her shows whenever she passed by the area.
