Beth designs were Lily’s creations, and deep down, she preferred her original design still. But it didn’t matter if she liked it or not. 

Lily texted Nadia back, “Each has its own merits.” She didn’t engage in a deeper discussion. Nadia detected the sense of detachment Lily was giving off mid didn’t ask any further questions 

Lily removed Sarah from her blocked contacts but didn’t message her right away. She wanted to wait until she was calm enough to handle whatever trouble Sarah might throw her way, then offer herself on a platter for Sarah to vent her frustrations on. 

The very fact that Lily couldn’t avoid Sarah only strengthened her resolve to boldly demand money from Xavier. 

She was already letting Xavier do whatever he wanted and had endured enough upset, so there was no reason for her to feel embarrassed. She was going tok Xavier for money that night. 

At Lupier, in the president’s office on the top floor. Lawrence Green, the person in charge of the Avelon Designs Competition, studied Terence’s expression with a smile. 

“Are you sure all the submissions are here?” Terence asked. He had skimmed through hundreds of submissions, and yet he didn’t see Lily’s design. His questioning gaze fell on Lawrence. 

Lawrence felt a pang of guilt but quickly responded with no hesitation, “They’re all here!” 

Terence tapped on his keyboard and quickly pulled up Lily’s design. He turned the screen toward Lawrence and said, “Contestant 356, Lily Joyner. This is her design draft.” 

Lawrence instantly felt his head throb. He wondered who exactly this Lily was. Nova Group had specifically demanded her removal, but Lupier seemed to be standing up for her. 

“Give me an explanation,” Terence said, his fingers tapping lightly on the desk. 

“Well, the judges felt this design didn’t stand out, so it was eliminated. Or, I might have accidentally missed it while I was sorting through the submissions.” Lawrence tried to avoid the question and didn’t give Terence a direct answer. 

However, Terence’s expression darkened. “It doesn’t stand out, but among these submissions, her work is at least above average. She deserves to advance.” 

“Mr. Devereux, these are the judges‘ decisions. We shouldn’t interfere. They are professionals, after all.” Lawrence said. 

The judges for the Avelon Designs Competition were renowned designers from both home and abroad. Even the sponsors had appointed representatives 

to act as judges. Lawrence tried to shift the blame onto the judging panel, unwilling to admit any of his manipulations. 

But before Lawrence could finish, Terence pulled open the drawer on his right, took out a card, and placed it in front of him. 

“Let’s pretend I’m not the president today, and I am a judge. Are you questioning my professionalism?” 

The card was an invitation from the Avelon Designs Competition’s officials for Terence to be on the judging panel. Unfortunately, he declined it as he had to return to the country, and then he took on the position of head of Lupier. 

Lawrence’s expression changed dramatically. He hadn’t known that Terence had achieved so much during his two years abroad. 

“Mr. Devereux, this it seems like there was a mistake somewhere. I’ll go back 

“Lawrence tried to come up with another excuse. 

“I have only one request. Let Lily go through the formal process. Whether she advances or is eliminated, it will be up to the judges” decisions.” 

Terence knew how strict the competition was, and the judges would never cheat. Lily’s design just never had a chance to appear before them.
