Chapter 181 

“Lily?” Xavier said instinctively. “Impossible.” 

He knew her too well after two years of marriage–she was timid. Setting a fire and burning down a house, especially with people inside, was something she would never do Besides, she had no reason to do this. 

“The living room’s surveillance cameras were burned, but the one in the yard is line. She came here, took the key, and entered the house, 

“The fire spread from the first to the second floor–she must have misunderstood something about me,” Sarah explained, her nose completely blocked 

from the cold, her eves moist with tears. 

She was aggrieved but didn’t have the strength to focus on that as she continued, “I’m fine. I wasn’t hurt. But the contracts for several major projects I just signed a few days ago were in the study… they were all burned. If the partners won’t agree to sign new contracts, we’ll lose tens of billions…” 

Xavier’s face was dark, his mind consumed by the contracts. He couldn’t care less about what Lily had misunderstood or why she had made trouble for Sarah. His only concern was those contracts. 

“Xavier…” Sarah’s voice grew weaker, and her body wavered, almost collapsing 

The thin blanket she was wrapped in slipped off, and with a thud, she collapsed to the ground. 

He quickly bent down, lifting her from the floor and rushing her to the car before heading to the hospital. 

The doctor conducted a routine checkup and diagnosed her within ten minutes–she had fainted from the cold. 

Given that she had been wearing thin pajamas in sub–zero temperatures for hours, the doctor was surprised she hadn’t frozen to death 

After some time, Sarah was settled into a regular ward when the first light of dawn began to break. 

Xavier pulled a cigarette from his pocket and walked to the end of the corridor to smoke. Just as he lit it, he suddenly heard someone talking on the phone from the hallway, 

It was Lily. 

Hayden had been transferred to a regular ward, and she had stayed up all night. She looked exhausted, her voice weak. 

Knowing Xavier was in the hospital, Terence hadn’t shown up in person, but he couldn’t stop worrying. So, he called Lily. 

Perhaps it was her physical or emotional exhaustion, but she couldn’t suppress the grievance and anger building inside her. She told Terence everything that had happened the night before.

His voice revealed his anxiety with each question. But she wasn’t focused on that at the moment. She took a deep breath, her voice muffled. 

“I’m not hurt. I’m still at the hospital. I’ll leave after Hayden wakes up.”
