Lily’s eyes were complicated, and an unintentional look of longing and reluctance appeared. 

“Lily.” The man’s voice came from above her head. 

She suddenly looked up and saw a blurred figure standing at the corner of the stairs. A cigarette slowly burned between his fingers, his gloomy face flickering in and out of the shadows.

She was forced back until her body hit the wall, struggling to breathe. “Because I don’t love you anymore!”

“It’s not about him!” Her heart skipped a beat. He must have overheard her phone call with Terence. 

She didn’t want to drag Terence into this, so she hurriedly explained, “It’s because of Sarah. You let her live in Glenview Villa and have an ambiguous relationship with her. I have proof!” 

“Ridiculous excuses!” He was convinced she wanted to divorce for Terence’s sake. “Are you afraid I’ll cause trouble for Terence?” 

Lily’s panicked gaze met him, but she could only see his sharp jawline. Her desperate denials only sounded like excuses to Xavier. 

The more she spoke, the angrier he became. 

She wanted to open her phone and show him the photos and videos to prove that he had been unfaithful, but his strength was overwhelming, pinning her against the wall, unable to move.
