Chapter 201 

“I’m one step away from crazy. Now explain this to me.” 

Xavier threw a stack of photos at Lily. The photos slipped off her body, scattering across the car. 

Rubbing her sore waist. Lily propped herself up and picked up a photo that had landed next to her. It was from last night when they were together. 

Her hair had caught on his shirt button at the time, but that detail wasn’t visible in the photo. It just showed her and Xavier in a tight embrace. 

They looked like lovers, unwilling to part on the quiet street. 

The rest of the photos were similar–shots of her and Xavier from various angles, clearly high–resolution and unmistakably recognizable. 

“Where did these come from?” She shot Xavier a confused look.

Xavier loosened his tie and laughed suddenly when he heard her question. “Disappointed these didn’t make it to the trending news or front–page stories? 

Lily couldn’t believe it he was losing it again. She turned to Timothy in the front seat. “Did you buy these from the media?” 

Given Xavier’s status, no media outlet would dare publish these photos even if someone anonymously leaked them to them. 

Early this morning, several media outlets had approached Timothy, eager to stay on Xavier’s good side while pocketing a little hush money. “Yes,” Timothy answered, fidgeting nervously. He knew Xavier now believed–no, was convinced that Lily had orchestrated all of this. 

“Who took these?” Lily pressed “Didn’t you ask the media?” 

Timothy carefully observed Xavier’s expression through the rearview mirror. After the scolding he received last night after Lily had left, he wasn’t about to speak out of turn now. 

Lily ignored Xavier, and it only seemed to infuriate him further. He grabbed Lily’s wrist and pulled her to face him. 

“Stop pretending. Are you seriously going to claim you didn’t set this up?” 

Lily winced at the pain in her wrist, biting her lip. “Give me one good reason I’d do that.” 

“You know exactly why,” Xavier said, pressing a finger lightly to her chest. 

She wanted the title. She tried to expose their relationship and force Xavier to acknowledge her publicly. 

He had made it clear that he would give her what she wanted as long as she behaved, but instead, she always resorted to schemes. 

The atmosphere in the car dropped to an icy chill. Only then did Lily realize what he meant by “setup“.
