Chapter 202 

Xavier’s fingertip brushed against Lily’s lips, smudging the lipstick she had just applied. Her soft cheeks against his rouch reminded him of last night, her face leaning softly into his chest. 

“I won’t give you another chance to pull any tricks.” 

Lily couldn’t avoid his touch as his cool fingertips trailed from her cheek to her neck and shoulder. A tingling sensation ran through her, and she bit her lip. “What do you mean?” 

“Timothy, drive.” 

“Yes, Mr. Fulton!” 

With barely a hitch, the car smoothly merged into the traffic as Timothy stepped on the accelerator. 

Lily squirmed in her seat. “Where are you taking me?” 

“Home.” Xavier’s thin lips parted, his tone icy. “You’re not allowed to leave the house until the one–month cooling–off period is over.” 

“Xavier, you’re seriously out of your mind!” Lily struggled harder. “This is false imprisonment. It’s illegal!” 

Xavier smirked, pressing his tongue against his cheek. “When you leaked the photos to the media, did you stop to think about the law?” 

Lily clutched his sleeve with one hand, protesting, “I didn’t give the photos to the media! Don’t you believe me?” 

To Xavier, her resistance was as insignificant as a kitten’s scratch, and her words barely registered. 

Realizing that her efforts were futile, Lily gave up trying to resist. 

With a single hand, he pinned her so firmly that her body was pressed tightly against his, leaving her nestled in his arms. She could only pull out her phone and message Nadia to ask if remote work was possible. 

It was still too early for work, and Nadia hadn’t responded. At 8:30 am, Lily was brought back to the residence she had once shared with Xavier. 

The familiarity hit her as soon as she stepped inside, but she had no time to dwell on her emotions. Xavier grabbed her by the collar like a helpless puppy and tossed her onto the couch without any regard for her dignity. 

“Ugh!” She bounced on the soft couch and let out a muffled groan. 

Xavier stood before her, removing his jacket and unbuttoning his cuffs, clearly not heading to the office. 

“Are you planning to watch me 24/7?” Lily sat up, glaring at him angrily. “Don’t you think it’s inappropriate for us to live under the same roof like this?” Xavier looked down at her, scrutinizing her from head to toe. “What’s inappropriate about it? Don’t get any ideas. I have no interest in a woman like you.” .He had brought her back for surveillance, not for intimacy. Sleeping with her? That would be giving her exactly what she wanted. 

Lily had never thought Xavier could act so extreme. There were still more than 20 days left in the one–month cooling–off period. 

For a couple on the verge of divorce, living under the same roof was nothing but awkwardness and frustration. Even a single glance at each other could spoil the mood, so why put up with it? 

“What about the Nova Group? Don’t you have work to do?” She tried a different approach.
