“Emma“Xavier entered the dining room and softly explained, “The company’s been busy these past couple of days, so I’ve rarely been home. Mrs. Fulton was at her parents‘ house, so we didn’t prepare any ingredients.” 

The explanation made sense, but if Emma hadn’t known about Lily’s strained relationship with her family, she might have believed it. 

Even though she wasn’t fully convinced, Emma couldn’t call Xavier out on the spot. 

“I see. By the way, I have some vegetables for the Fulton Manor in the car. Ill go get them,” Emma said. 

Xavier nodded. “Thank you, it’s much appreciated.” 

Emma smiled and walked out. “Mr. Fulton, you’re too polite. It’s nothing!* 

In the living room, Edith and Lily were sipping Jasmine tea and chatting, unaware of Emma fetching the ingredients from the car. 

“Lily, how’s your brother been doing lately?” Edith asked 

“He’s undergoing treatment. Lily stared at the pale Jasmine tea in her cup. Her heart dropped at the mention of Hayden. 

Edith’s expression softened in sympathy. “Medical technology is so advanced now; he’ll get better. Which hospital is heat? Is there a well–known doctor? 

“If you face any difficulties, don’t hesitate to come to us. Whether it’s manpower or financial support that you need, just let us know, okay?” With the Fulton family’s resources, they could hire the best doctors in the world for Hayden’s treatment. They could also easily cover the expensive medical bills. 

But even if Lily and Xavier weren’t getting divorced, she wasn’t sure if he would help her.
