Chapter 206
With no one else around, the living room, kitchen, and dining area became the perfect spaces for them to enjoy their intimacy.
However, when others were present, it was hard to truly relax and be themselves, which wasn’t ideal for their relationship.
“No wonder Mr. Fulton didn’t want me to come today. As long as they’re fine, that’s all that matters,” Emma said, hanging up Edith’s coat.
Edith sank into the sofa, deep in thought. Today seemed like a good day to encourage them to start a family.
Lily stood by the fridge, staring at the emptiness inside, feeling frustrated. She turned to look at Xavier, who was leaning against the wall.
“Why is there nothing in here?“”
“Isn’t the living allowance with you?” Xavier replied, reminding her of the money she’d taken with her when she left.
Lily’s chest tightened. She wasn’t afraid of him bringing up Sarah or anything that might upset her. But when it came to money, that was different.
She shut the fridge door and swiftly took a box of Jasmine tea out from the cabinet. Then, she walked into the living room, setting it on the tea table to brew.
“Grandma, the fruit is frozen now. It’ll be too cold for your stomach if you eat it straight from the fridge. Let me make some Jasmine tea for you instead.
Edith loved Jasmine tea. Whenever she was at the Fulton Manor, she’d brew a pot of tea and sip it as they chatted.
“Alright,” she agreed, her gaze drifting toward Xavier, who had followed Lily into the room. His shirt hung untucked, and his sleeves were casually rolled up. Lily had never seen him so disheveled.
When a man wasn’t dressed neatly, it looked sloppy. But when he looked like this at home, with his wife around, it definitely meant…..
Edith’s lips curled into a smile. “Xavier, what’s with all the bodyguards outside? Are you worried your wife might run off?”
“Clink”
The teacup in Lily’s hand slipped, nearly shattering
“Grandma, it’s cold outside. You shouldn’t be out and about too much if you don’t have to.”
Xavier’s expression remained calm, but there was a brief flicker of unease in his eyes that he couldn’t completely hide.
“Mind your own business. I missed Lily, so I came to see her,” Edith said.
Seeing that things were going well between them, she refrained from bringing up the burnt wedding house.
“Grandma, I missed you too.” Lily rinsed the Jasmine tea with hot water, discarded it, and began brewing a fresh pot. “But Xavier is right. The weather’s cold and the roads are slippery. You need to be careful.”
Ediths nodded in agreement. “I know, I’ll be more careful. But you should be careful too, right? What if you slip and fall, then…”
She gestured vaguely over her belly, hinting at something.
“No, Grandma. I…” Lily was about to explain, but the overwhelming fragrance of the Jasmine tea suddenly hit her, making her stomach churn.
She instinctively stood up, covering her mouth, and hurried toward the bathroom.
Xavier frowned, his eyes following her slender figure. A look of confusion crossed his face.
“She’s going to vomit!” Edith’s eyes widened, her voice filled with excitement. “She must be pregnant!”
