There weren’t many cars at this late hour, so although Xavier and Terence were talking at a normal volume while standing on opposite sides of the road, they could still hear each other. 

Xavier’s lips twitched suddenly. 

He was smiling, but his dark, black eyes were extremely cold. “What kind of fetish do you have, Mr. Devereux? Why do you keep going to see someone else’s wife in the middle of the night?” They had become distant from each other after not being in contact for a long time, but his formal address of Terence immediately turned them from distant friends to opponents. “Xavier, give her some privacy and space.” 

Terence had never imagined that Lily would transform so much in the two years since he’d last met her. She’d always been smiley and cheerful, but now she was silent and barely ever smiled. 

Her brow was always furrowed, and there was always a tinge of grief in her expression. She gave the impression that she was suffocating under immense pressure. It made one’s heart ache 

to see her. 

He had no idea what had happened to her in the past two years. 

“You’re an outsider. You don’t need to concern yourself with our affairs.” Xavier got back into the car, started the engine, and left. 

He’d only wanted to check that Lily wasn’t bold enough to let Terence stay overnight. As for how to teach his disobedient wife a lesson, he hadn’t decided yet. 

The Maybach sped off down the street. There was a complex look in Terence’s eyes. After a while, he sighed and drove off in his own car. 

It was late at night, and Lily could feel her emotions rising up within her. 

It had been triggered by Maryanne asking her why she’d come back so late that night. 

At first, she hadn’t wanted to say anything about Sarah moving into the marital home that had belonged to her and Xavier. 

However, she couldn’t deflect Maryanne’s persistent questioning, and she knew that there would be countless holes in any lie she tried to make. She had no choice but to be honest. 

“Sarah did it on purpose, didn’t she?” Maryanne wrung the rabbit–shaped cushion she was holding, clenching her teeth. 

Lily lay back on her chaise longue, her long hair spread out behind her as she stared up at the ceiling. “It’s not important. What’s important is that I must get divorced as soon as possible.” Before that, she’d been debating about how to divorce Xavier. After what had happened that day, she’d decided to use the most direct method. 

They would lay their cards out on the table face–to–face. She could no longer delay it. If she kept dragging it out, it would only make the situation worse for her. 

“Divorce him!” Maryanne said fiercely. “I’ll get two bodyguards tomorrow and go to Nova Group with you to find Xavier the Hound!“. 

Lily curled up slightly and shook her head. “No matter how much he’s crossed the line, I only want to get divorced. I don’t want to cause any trouble.” 

The main point was that she couldn’t afford to cause trouble. 

“Okay, then once you’re divorced, I’ll find a sack in a color that he hates and trap him in it so that I can beat him up!” Maryanne felt indignant on Lily’s behalf. She felt that she couldn’t die in peace if they didn’t vent their anger on Xavier. 

However, no matter what kind of humiliation Lily had sustained, nothing would make her prouder than being able to stand confidently and fearlessly in front of Xavier one day. 

Lily drafted another divorce agreement overnight. This time, she didn’t ask for a single cent. It wasn’t that she had no ambition, but she just couldn’t be bothered to say a single word more to 

Xavier. 

As long as he would divorce her, she didn’t care about anything else! 

With a firm conviction in mind, she got up early the next morning and went straight to Nova Group with the divorce agreement. 

It was 8:00 am, and according to Xavier’s schedule in the past, he should have been at the office.
