Chapter 91 

Although Sarah had moved into the villa due to an unintentional turn of events, Xavier knew that it wasn’t right. If word got out, he’d be the one to blame. 

But how dare Lily use that against him? Was she really that determined to go through with the divorce? 

Xavier finally realized she was serious about ending things. 

Nevertheless, there was one thing that Lily hadn’t figured out yet–she was in no position to demand a divorce! 

He hung up the phone without another word, his gaze darkening. 

Just then, Timothy knocked on the office door. After getting Xavier’s approval, he quickly walked in. 

“Mr. Fulton, there’s a document here that needs your signature.” 

Xavier flipped through the document and signed it. Then, he asked casually, “How’s the Joyner family been doing recently?” 

“Mrs. Fulton’s father doesn’t have a very good reputation in the industry. Without your help, Joyner Group is struggling,” Timothy explained. 

He paused briefly before continuing, “Although the issue with Hayden has been resolved, it took up a lot of Mr. Joyner’s attention. Now, it looks like they might not last much longer.” 

For the past month, Bobby had been focused on getting Hayden out of prison and had neglected a lot of his work. This had resulted in many stakeholders–most of whom he’d met through Xavier–being displeased with him. 

Now that Hayden had been released, Bobby was able to shift his focus back to work. However, it seemed a little too late for that now. 

Timothy sighed. “Mr. Joyner seemed to have realized this. He’s been trying to contact me the past few days–he hopes to meet you.” 

A smirk appeared on Xavier’s face. He couldn’t help but scoff at how much the Joyner family relied on him. 

He picked up the pen, signed on the last page of the document, and slid it back toward Timothy. 

“Let’s meet him.” 

Timothy was stunned. He picked up the document instinctively and asked, “When would you like to meet him?” 

Xavier thought for a moment, then raised an eyebrow and said, “We’ll see.” 

It was quite a hassle to get around without a car. It took Lily nearly two hours to get from Glenview Villa to Nova Group. 

At 11:30 am, Lily finally reached her destination. 

Initially, she thought meeting Xavier would be difficult. But to her surprise, as soon as she stepped into the building, the receptionist told her to go right up. 

As she made her way upstairs, the receptionist quickly called Timothy to inform him of Lily’s arrival. 

Timothy passed the news to Xavier, who then instructed him to have Bobby come to Nova Group within the next half hour. 

As the elevator reached the top floor, Lily couldn’t shake an uneasy feeling–it was all going too smoothly. 

Her nerves grew as the elevator doors opened, revealing the doors to Xavier’s office. 

She quickly reminded herself that she’d done everything Xavier requested, so this time, he would surely agree to the divorce! With that thought in mind, she managed to somewhat suppress her anxiety. She stepped forward and knocked on the door. 

“Come in,” A deep, masculine voice called from inside.
